This spring may turn out be another Sims/AJ battle come spring. In the end there will be some unhappy fans because Saban will put the best player in at QB come next fall.

He’s won a SEC championship trophy.

Yeah. His 55% completion percentage with 138 yards was the difference in that game.

Not win NCAA shite but be a 1st RD NFL prospect. You're being extremely short-sided and narrow minded. College ball is just a step towards a bigger end.

Hurts might make a decent H back type... sort of like Smelly.

That could be. He's a strong fellow, not afraid of taking a hit, and a very good athlete. Some NFL team might take a chance on him at some position.

Just bc some of you would run from competition do any mean Tua or Hurts would. They may and you may be right, but to assume a competitor would not compete seems silly to me. Tua knee the deal when he committed. He’s not running.

For the record, and as already noted, I think he'll be the starter next season.

No one is saying they'd leave before the competition. You leave when it's clear the competition has ended in the other guy's favor. And there's nothing shameful or irrational about that.

Although he sucked lastnight everyone is quick to forget how many games he’s won us as a starter. We aren’t in the hunt last year or this year without him. His legs and cool demeanor have made up for his lack of passing up until lastnight. Play calling and dumb mistakes sure didn’t help out. With that being said I agree I think he is the weakest link on offense and wished we had a better passing game.

I agree -- if he adequately protects the ball.

This whole issue was caused by the shite show of handling QBs between AJ and Hurts. We started a QB converted to RB converted to QB, then a transfer, and we're still forced to start a true freshman who was not ready to play championship ball.

I think Hurts has done the best he could have done given the situation and should have sat a couple years behind a seasoned QB.

If you start Tua this year you are throwing him into the same bad situation Hurts was.

We will see a competition in the spring/fall. Maybe Saban can right the QB track and offense in Dabolls second year.

Not true. Bama is in the hunt this year and last year in spite of Hurts.

Concur. Same story with Sims. Great athletics, average QBs. I'd rather have another game manager like McElroy, AJ, or Coker. At least their brains process at the speed of the game. Hurts always seems a split second behind. Sims seemed to be a second too fast.

If u think we won in spite of JH this year then there's no sense discussing it. His play won the previous 2 SEC games . Everybody is flipping out over 1 loss. Bottom line is with a fully healthy defense that can get off the field we'd be getting ready for Georgia. It's a blessing though in a way because we re seeing the fair weathers coming out of the wood work.

O line is the weaker link to me personally and has been for multiple years. Kiffin never got enough credit for doing what he did with the offensive lines he had

The same troubles that plague Hurts were evident in conference play against TAMU, LSU, and MSU.

I liked Coker - probably a wash. Give me sims and Hurts over McElroy any day. The oline difference from 08 - 2012 days compared to after is shocking.

Tua isn’t leaving and it would be a dumb move regardless. They traveled 6-7000 miles to come to Alabama and he committed in part because his parents really like the Christian atmosphere of the place they live at.

Don’t be stupid.

You really think Tua is going to chill on the bench for another two years while Hurts continues to perform subpar?
