Bama wins by 10-17 points.
Bama is just better than them on both sides of the ball,

Bama 13-0
That's assuming Jalen sucks throwing the ball. There is no reason to think he won't.

Jalen's throwing worries me.
We really haven't had a great passing performance against LSU since Saban has been at Alabama. I suppose you could argue that AJ in the 2011 BCSNC was epic given the context. We've had some good ones, and some okay ones. None ever really terrible. Most of them good enough to win.
Maybe Jalen breaks the trend, but I'd bank on this being a tight game where we will have to control the trenches. All Jalen has to do is be efficient enough to keep their D honest.
The good thing is that Jalen is capable of making most throws, and even his bad throws are generally where the defender can't pick it. This will be the best secondary he has faced, so it will be interesting.
My prediction:
Alabama 28
LSU 24

I'm very interested to see what wrinkles are added to the passing attack for this game. Hurts is really something new - and not just because he's a dual threat guy.
Every other QB under Saban has been a known quantity to the staff. Even AJ had been in the program 2 years before handed the keys. While we and opposing staffs didn't know what they could do, our own staff had been watching them for years and had a pretty good grasp of their strengths and weaknesses.
That's not the case for Hurts. He's almost as new to them as he is everyone else and they're learning with each and every game. Up until now, the schedule hasn't allowed much time for adjustments, but we've been slowing adding things every week. More RPOs, more throws to the backs, and last week a big dose of OJ Howard.
With the off week, I expect they've spent a lot of time tweeking things to fit what they've seen from Hurts thus far. I think we'll see even more wrinkles to fit his skill set Saturday night.

I tend to agree but from a talent perspective, USC is right there

14-0 Bama at half, defensive shutdown
14-7 entering the 4th, Fournette busts one loose in the 3rd
Tough 4th quarter, long drive on Hurts scrambles late to seal it, 21-7
Bama scores a garbage time TD on a fumble recovery.
Final: 28-7 Elephants, game closer than the score indicated

LSU 24
Bama 23
Tigers are down 6 midway in the fourth quarter bama faces a 3rd and 7 on the 45 yd line of the tigers. Key stunts to the inside, strip-sack and takes it to the house. Feeling confident in Adam as he's already hit 3 fg's in the game. Bama drives down to the LSU 15 yd line and stalls again. With three minutes left, Griffin hits the left upright. Tiger's take the ball and run out the clock thanks to a key facemask penalty on an apparent third down stop.
A guy can dream right?

We also can't stop running the ball and go series without a single rushing attempt ala aTm game..until lsu prove they can get into the backfield and stop our run game. It'll put too much pressure on Hurts.

27-17 Bama
I think we are better at the LOS and that will play itself out over 4 quarters. We don't lose to QBs like Etling even though I think Fournette plays a much better game than last year.
The only question mark is Hurts, who I'm a big fan of, but going into TS at night against a very good LSU defense is a heck of a test for true freshman that has struggled to throw downfield.

On offense, I see us showing a lot of jet sweep motion away from Key. Let him rush up the field and send Jalen right where he left.
On D it comes down to the DBs winning the one on one battles with LF7. Last year the DBs were able to get LF7 to the ground every time they had a 1 on 1. They have to do that again to keep him from busting one.
