Tennessee 27

Tennessee is going to get some big plays with Kamara and Dobbs throwing up to their big receivers (Malone and Jennings). He'll also make a mistake or two and history shows the odds of us scoring on it are high.

If Kirkland is out or limited they are basically down 1 DT and 3 LBs (McDowell, Kirkland, JRM). They weren't deep there to start with. We should be able to move the ball, get Jalen comfortable.

Will be a close game, though, IMHO.

As much as I would love for us to blow them out, I think it will be one of those frustrating games where we make dumb mistakes, get behind early, and have to fight back...

Hurts is a different animal than previous QB's though, and pressure doesn't seem to affect him so maybe not.

With the way ut turns it over...seems they try their hardest to keep teams in it.

I'm thinking in this neighborhood. Maybe one more TD for Bama. I'm just glad UT is having to play Bama on the back side of a tough stretch for a change. Folks forget that they were fresh last year where we were coming off of an 8 game straight stretch. The fact that we are on equal footing with them this year will show how much they still have to go to catch up.

UT can put up some points, Dobbs is a good QB. They will probably hit some deeper passes, but I don't think they will run the ball well with the RBs.

A key factor, IMO, is that when we get pressure on Dobbs, we have to hit him. We can't let him run for first downs, especially on third down.

It concerns me that Reuben may not play...our defense was noticeably more inefficient after he left the game last week.

With Reuben: Bama 42-28
Without Reuben: Bama 52-38

44-17 with a late UT TD in garbage.

Not that impressed with UT. Could surprise but they lack the coach to put a full game together. And yes I know they beat aTm but not impressed at all with the aggies. And this coming from someone who thought coming into the season aTm was our toughest game. They defense has not improved at all and neither team can outscore us IMO.

UT will play us tough maybe in the beginning being at Neyland and with the crowd behind them but it will be short lived I think by the time the 2nd quarter rolls around. aTm reminds me of MSU a few years ago when they were undefeated and rolled into TTown for HC weekend.

I think Bama pulls an early lead and Tennessee fights back in the 2nd half like the usually do. Injuries will limit their success. Bama wins by 10.

I would love nothing more than to shut them out. 35-0 would be great.

But I think it'll be a close, hard fought game. I'll say 44-34, good guys.

Thanks for the access guys.

I think Tennessee will give you a game for the first half or so but Dobbs doesn't make good decisions under pressure. Y'all may force more than the 7 turnovers we got.....but seriously, they are a solid team just so banged up and injured that I cannot see them hanging on with your depth. I've picked y'all to win and cover the 13 point spread.

Uh-huh....... So which is it?

We're selling them short. TN has a good team. They nearly beat a very good aTm team while committing 7 turnovers

Ags couldn't tackle, at all. Tenn is depleted on defense and it will be difficult for them to get off the field. I think it will be a 20 point win, although I could see it around 14 points. I will be a little surprised if it's closer than that.

Some of our fans don't respect Dobbs as a passer, but you watch the guy, he can make any throw downfield. He's not the most accurate passer, but he has done a good job of eluding the rush and buying his receivers more time to get open. I love our defense, but we've seen them give up some deep balls throughout the years and get out of position.

I know we have a much better defense than they've faced, but I sure hope the players are ready to fight it out for 4 quarters. They've had their troubles in the 1st half, but in the 2nd half, they come to play regardless of the margin.

Dobbs in the 1st half
47/89 (52.8%), 591 yards, 5.93 yards per pass, and a 3-3 TD-INT ratio.

Also 139 yards rushing

Dobbs in the 2nd half
58/91 (63.7%), 914 yards, 10.04 yards per pass, and 11-5 TD-INT ratio.

Also 185 yards rushing.

He almost doubles his production in the 2nd half and wills his team to victory. Even in the 4th quarter, he has almost 500 yards passing all season with a 7-2 TD-INT ratio.

Point being, defense cannot let up like they did vs Arkansas and Ole Miss late into the game. Tennessee wants this game more than any game on their schedule and they're going to do anything they can to top Alabama. It doesn't help either that throughout the entire week, they're hearing on ESPN that there is no way Tennessee can beat Alabama.

38-27 Bama

Our defense makes a ton of plays but they also give up a lot of yards and points to good offenses it seems.

That's wishful thinking, not a prediction. Obviously it's in our best interests to have you play a bruising game and get a demoralizing loss.

But let's be honest, a bruising game is the only part of that which might actually occur
