and some teams spring game is this weekend also. Depending on NIL money some may be waiting on their last check. I assume those are 12 month type contracts.

Ya'll have to be patient with the portal. I get a feeling that the last few days of portal will be crazier than usual because here's a theory:
If let's say Transfer portal ends on 4/20. What if players is waiting until last minute to bolt per advice of other teams.. making it harder for that team to fill spots ?

I’d mentioned earlier that so far, the number of good players in the portal has been underwhelming and I stand by that.
That’s not to say that in the next week or so that some good ones will go but this far, other than Proctor, there hasn’t been a single “wow” player in the portal.
Most are 3rd team players from mediocre teams like Bowling Green or Arizona State.

Josh Pate and others have reported that Bama has been engaged with some back channeling with some players. DeBoer and staff probably already know who they want and if the players are interested in coming to Bama. Those players may have not entered the portal yet.

I heard somewhere that Bama is at 85 right now and could not currently take anyone unless we get transfers out. Is that not correct?
