You have a freak of nature at tight end and all you do is let him block. Now I know why tight ends don't want to come to Bama. OJ should get 5-8 balls thrown to him a game.

I can't think of any reasonable explanation as to why he hasn't been targeted more. I can understand not wanting to target him over the middle with Sims, but there's no reason he can't line up in one of the receiver positions. Dude is too big and too fast for anyone to cover effectively.

Hopefully when we open the play book to more than screens.

Oh who am I kidding, OJ is never getting the ball

I don't get why he has no touches yet either, but it's a long season. We'll play 11-13 more games. He could easily get 30-35 catches on the year.

But man while I think OJ should be getting a lot of plays, it's tough to argue against Cooper having 25 catches in 7 quarters of play.

SEC play. Start involving him then, then the defenses will have a lot more to worry about.

It rhymes with Ferrari Super. As long as the offense is producing I honesty don't care who's getting the yards. Cooper is more of a big play threat than Howard. If we can pick up an easy and safe 12 yards per play with Cooper, why would we look elsewhere? We all want to see Howard, but from what I've read it seems like some of you view it as a problem he isn't getting the ball. If we were struggling to move the ball and not targeting Howard then you'd have a valid complaint, but the offense has been very efficient.

We tried forcing it to Cooper downfield a couple times today that would've been picked by a better D. I like that we're feeding him but no excuse for completely ignoring OJ

I don't know that there is an excuse. At this point, I imagine there is a reason he hasn't been fed. No telling what that is.

Did he get a big head and Saban wanted to reel him him by making him be mainly a blocker? I don't know, nothing he's ever done has indicated that he's that type of kid.

Is he secretly nursing a minor injury and we don't want him getting drilled over the middle before SEC play? I don't know, we wouldn't be letting him block in that situation.

Are we just keeping him hidden away for Florida/SEC play? Possibly, Saban has gone to lengths before to hide things from upcoming opponents.

Like I said earlier though, I wouldn't get too worried until say 5 games in. We should play 11-13 more games, he could easily end up with 30-35 catches.

I think the excuse is bad qb play. Sims throws bubble screens to WR. If OJ went to a team like A&M he is an all American.

I assume they will in games that actually matter.

One time Blake went to him in WV game, pic. Blame it on Kiff, Blake, whomever.

I agree, I want him to get the ball, he is a force to be reckoned with. I have no input on coaching decisions, however.

That was on a vertical route. Doesn't explain why we haven't thrown any short routes to him. Also that was last game. Are we not going to throw to him the rest of the season because a CB made a good play and picked off a pass to him in the 1st game?
