What about our electricity, water, gas? Someone has to go to work to keep our utilities going.

& of course, what about medical, hospitals. These people will have to still go to work.

I thought and think it's clear that some people have to work no matter what, but it's a fraction of the population.

Yeah. It's necessary that some people still work. But to stop the spreading from getting totally out of control, intermingling of the population, especially in large groups and/or in close proximity to each other, must be greatly reduced for several weeks.

That is easy to say in theory, but in practice there are tons of employers out there who will not give their workers paid time off and tons of workers for whom taking 2 weeks off would mean losing their home.

Yep. That's a big reason I said it's necessary that some people still work. Companies can take some helpful preventive measures though, such as holding group meetings online instead of in conference rooms and auditoriums, and temporarily eliminating airline business travel, especially international.

Which is why the populace needs to wake up and change the government. Italy suspended all mortgage payments, and it didn't seem difficult for them to do so. Lots of countries force companies to provide paid leave. Lots of countries have business cultures where working from home is normal and has been for years. It's the US that's behind the times and woefully unprepared, as well as having a dunce for President. Lots of countries have proactive governments that prioritize the welfare of citizens over profit - just not the US. The rest of the world is much better off to handle this disaster. Don't blame the coronavirus - blame the people in charge who created this system that benefits them and screws you. And there will be another coronavirus real soon - bank on it.

If the federal gov't is willing to give billions upon billions in special aid to bail out the automotive industry, the airline industry, and the banking industry (twice), what's stopping them from bailing out the American people?

They pumped $500 billion into the stock market today and it still had its biggest percentage loss since October 1987.

Good thing my shower is within waddling distance of my toilet. I'll just wash my arse after a shite.

Wait, people aren't snapping these up along with the toilet paper?

Who wipes their arse with toilet paper without a wet wipes follow through?

BOL posters with family members on staff at Hunstville & Bham Hospitals have said they have patients who've been tested, but test results are not yet confirmed.

I became allergic to baby wipes after about 5 years of this. Apparently, it's common. It causes a deep butthole itch that will make you murder people. I had to go back to solo TP.

But my master bath has a bidet so I'm golden.
