Seems like we may have screwed him over by him switching positions. I'm trying to keep an open mind, but last year was downright painful
I like how he does whatever the coaches want him to. I hope he does succeed, but I have my doubts.

quote:I'm with you on that, I guess I defend him because I was converted to corner for a week or two in college my freshman year and completely hated the small things that was demanded of me by my coach, who was nowhere near Saban in terms of detail. But to be honest, a former H.S. coach from Mobile who works for Saban, told my uncle, Cyrus was actually moving in the right direction. Just maybe he had a bad scrimmage or maybe my uncle was drunk when he gave me the intel.

How you like hearing what we thought about Big Cam as the starter at LT
3 years as a beast at LT then gone to the League

Love it. I know any Freshman is gonna have struggles on the OL, especially LT, but C-Rob is a special talent. He's going to become one of the best in the country before he leaves Bama. Getting experience this year will only help him in 2015 and 2016, and provide us with stability at the position.

Yep. Kelly will be back in 2015, and do will Dom Jackson, who I'm certain will earn a spot somewhere.
I'm maintaining right now that our best 5 will be C-Rob, Jackson, Grant Hill, Leon Brown, and Kelly. Other than Kelly at Center and C-Rob at LT, the other three could mix and match anywhere.

I've been leaning towards him starting for the whole season, as well as Brown. This report seems to lean some credence to that. Adam Griffith better get his crap together

I have been very disappointed reading about all the ST struggles
I really hope its not as bad as it sounds but I will prepare myself for the absolute worst

I don't fricking understand how we can get the best linebackers, corners, safeties, dline, oline, WRs, rbs, but cannot buy a decent kicker

Griffith has the leg, just not the accuracy.
Cade barely had the leg.
We're getting closer.

Tiffin and Shelley were both solid kickers. Shell just lacked great leg strength and Tiffin would just brain fart and miss chip shots every once in a blue moon. Both were very good for the most part though. Kickers are head cases though and you never know with them. If my memory serves me correctly, Michael Proctor was awesome early in his career, but completely fell apart later on. Pitchers are similar. Mark Wohlers was a clutch closer through most of his career with the Braves, but his last couple of seasons was a wild pitch machine.

We need to put Bobby W to work on calling every successful kicker in the last 30 years in the NFL and ask if they have a son in HS and start recruiting him no me patter where the hell they are

frick it, does Gary Anderson have any eligibility?

The urban legend I hear about Proctor was that Stallings finally was able to make him stop smoking weed. He then struggled at the end of his senior season. He was a darn good kicker for about 3 and 3/4 seasons.

Somebody that could help I mean damn

You think the NCAA would frown on Alabama signing a 54 year old kicker with NFL experience?
Posted on 4/13/14 at 9:27 pm to harmonics
Today's NCAA is not the same as the one who put Bama on probation

Hell screw getting a kicker. I say on field goal attempts, Alabama just roll a cannon out there, chuck a football in, and blast away.
Posted on 4/13/14 at 9:47 pm to harmonics
I'm not against more going for 2s and more 4th down conversion attempts.

I'm not opposed to giving Jeremy Shelley a haircut and a new name and number. Nobody would know the difference
Posted on 4/13/14 at 9:58 pm to chattabama
Rory McElroy would be pissed

What about that walk-on Mexican soccer player?
His highlight reel was insane.
Also the freshman coming in this year has a leg and accuracy, we might see him compete
