@AaronSuttles: Arie Kouandjio practiced with the ones at left guard along with the usual cast. More coming in a few in the practice report.

I noticed he was out of the lineup early. Was he injured or pulled?

I think they are still rotating to figure out what works

I think the LG position is an on-going competition and they wanted to give Kellen some game snaps with the 1's to see how he'd do

I am not a judge of talent but it looked like KW did a good job or no worse then AK. I think KW can also play tackle and would they consider putting him their some and moving 79 to LG to try things

What we saw
-- As promised based on his Tweets today, wide receiver Kenny Bell was not at practice. That pretty much confirms that his account wasn't hacked. We'll have more information about Bell after Nick Saban's post-practice press conference.
-- Alabama didn't have its usual crew of walk-on wide receivers at practice today, so that left three receivers at Bell's usual spot at the Z. It was DeAndrew White, Kevin Norwood and Parker Barrineau.
-- For the second straight day, Jalston Fowler opened practice with the running backs. All throughout the preseason, Fowler was working with the tight ends/H-backs during media viewing sessions.
-- Not sure if this was in response to what happened Saturday, but the running backs spent some time working on their blocking.
-- CB Geno Smith, who was suspended from last week's game because of his recent arrest for driving under the influence, has returned to Saban's group of defensive backs. In the immediate weeks after his arrest, Smith was placed with a group of DBs that included walk-ons and players who aren't likely to see much playing time.
-- No noticeable changes on the offensive line. Second-team remains Grant Hill, Kellen Williams, Chad Lindsay, Alphonse Taylor and Leon Brown.
-- LB Tana Patrick is wearing a significant amount of tape on his left ankle, but he's playing through the injury.

Saban's presser ongoing:
quote:
@AaronSuttles 2m
Saban: Two good days the last two days. Right attitude, right approach on trying to improve.
quote:
AaronSuttles 1m
Saban: Players really good attitude. Hopefully a wake-up call, attention to detail.
quote:
@CecilHurt 1m
Nick Saban: "We live in a society now where everyone wants to do what they want to do. No one wants to be obedient."
quote:
@Andrew_Gribble 1m
"Hopefully this is a bit of a wakeup call," Saban says for mistakes made against Virginia Tech.
quote:
@AaronSuttles 1m
Saban: Kenny Bell I gave a personal day to today. He should be back to practice tomorrow.
quote:
@AaronSuttles 59s
Saban: I have a tremendous amount of respect for him as a competitor.
quote:
@AaronSuttles 34s
Re: Bell...sounds like he was frustrated, Saban recognized that and gave him a personal day to deal with the frustration with no penalty.
quote:
@AaronSuttles 38s
Saban in a mood today. "I'm sick and tired of dealing with the BS." Talking about AJ's mobility.
quote:
@CecilHurt 28s
Saban: (Bell) came and we had a discussion. I talked to his mom. I want Kenny to be part of the team if he can be happy doing that."
quote:
@AaronSuttles 1m
Three consecutive questions about how young players were coming along set Saban off today. "Why don't you ask about C.J. Mosley?" Saban.

I like it. Haven't seen him fired up in a while.

Honestly, I don't understand why he lit into the guys asking about the new guys on the team. But that's just me.

It was more of him being upset about why they don't ask about how a guy like CJ Mosley is doing. It's been noted before how high Nick is on CJ, and it's been said that he's one of the few, hell if not the only, player that has never made any mistakes under Saban to have Saban have to tell him what to do.

Am I the only one who now thinks we going to crush A&M just based on the presser
These 2 weeks of practice are going to be absolute hell

I think they'll be absolutely ready to play the 14th.

We may end up thanking Virginia Tech by seasons end.

We need some leadership on the OL this year. I would give anything to have Fluker back at RT not because he is Bette than Shepard but because he was the leader. He got in people's face when they needed it. Steen or CK need to step up.

You would think Steen easily, experience wise.
