It really frustrates me watching programs like Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Vandy, and South Carolina have so much success recently, and Alabama seems to just take 5 steps back every year.

It would be nice to finally see the program go on a run like they did in the 90s.

I think we all agree with you.

Keller getting the start. Not a bad 4th option. The bats need to show up today.

6-5 so we only down 1. Pretty sure more runs will be scored by both teams today

This series was tough. We had so many opportunities with runners on base and could not get them home. We will see what happens. I like the matchup with Kentucky. I think it is very winnable. Hopefully we have a good showing and get some momentum going into a regional.

A new name to consider for replacing Gaspard.

Mervyl Melendez...

He's only 42 and led Bethune-Cookman to a regional 11 times in 12 seasons there. Won the MEAC 11 times there. He's in his fifth season at Alabama State and just went 28-0 in SWAC play.

I'd take him for that first name alone.

I know there are projections out there that have Alabama as a 3 seed, but I think there's a bigger possibility that Alabama doesn't even get in. We have an RPI of 62 right now and a SOS of 28. Only 4 other teams ever from a major conference have gotten in with an RPI in the 60s.

I know we want Gaspard gone and this would for sure push him out, but I think Alabama has a real chance of being a big threat with this pitching and if the hitters get hot. While it would save Gaspard another year likely, it still would be nice to go on a run. Really hope they can get it still.

Baseball America has Alabama in the last four out now. Not surprising.

Preview

Probable Pitching Matchup
UA - Nick Eicholtz (Jr., RHP) vs. UK - Zach Logue (So., LHP)

Watch: SECN

Live Updates: @Alabamabsb

Notes:
We are throwing our Sunday starter today while Kentucky is using their midweek pitcher.
We might have to win this game to make the NCAA Tournament. Hopefully we can not only win today, but go on a run deep into the week.
This park is huge as y'all probably know. Watching the early game this morning, there were some of those deep fly balls that are caught on the warning track that would normally be out in another park. We have been hitting HRs recently but it is tough to hit one out here. Hopefully we can take advantage of the big park(we did play there last year) and not be the victim of it.
