I hope Ty Simpson gets a FAIR SHAKE but I just don't see it. It's too much media attention around Jalen Milroe and rightfully so but it is what it is.

I love what I saw from our linebackers.

They came thru gaps with a purpose the second half of the scrimmage.

Lawson, Campbell, Jefferson, and Alexander are all head hunters.

#41 is going to be extremely good as well.

In fairness tio Milroe..he had some passes dropped. Flat dropped. But you can't tell much from watching a mix and matched mess like today.

People forget just how average to bad Bama's D has been for half a decade.

Bama's defense was pretty salty last year especially when it came to situational defense. They weren't on par with some of the better Saban defenses such as 2011 and 2016 but neither game Bama lost was because the opponent bent our defense over and made 'em like it.

I'm pretty encouraged. The first team oline looked pretty solid even missing some guys we will probably have in fall. The defense looked shaky to start but some of that was the line was blocking open some crazy holes., and the rbs were running hard. We have 3 really good rbs, 2 QBs we can win a lot with (think Simpson looked the best) and lots of good options at wr (I didn't think Bernard is any drop off from Bond, he looks good to go). Overall, offense looks like it's gonna be nasty, and I was surprised at how many different looks we were using in the game. I think we are going to be tough to handle schematically.

It was nice to see the defense come roaring back in the second half and show out a little. Clearly we have more work to do on that side but I think we are gonna be great at lb, great on the edge, I think we are super talented in the secondary but guys just need reps. I hope we can target some difference maker defensive tackles in the portal, need some more depth there, and probably one more experienced defensive back.

I missed the game, but noticed Kendrick Law had a carry. I’m guessing he was lined up at wideout or in the slot, but did he have any plays where he lined up in the backfield?

I’ve heard good things about this kid being a great athlete, but looking at those numbers, it looks like he’s a football player too. Not bad for his first spring

True, but they also don’t blitz him in a spring game. And we know how bad he was at picking that up (see 1st half against Michigan). He literally couldn’t diagnose when one was coming, let alone what to do with the ball when it did. UGA really helped him by putting 2 spies on him instead of just blitzing consistently from various positions.

If he’s going to be QB1, they better blitz the heck out of him in fall practice until he figures out where to go with the ball on the blitz (and how to recognize if it’s coming).

Watching on Tv after being at the stadium. Passing game is kind of hard to gauge, the running backs are as good and deep as we’ve had since about 2018.
