I bet Coach Saban hasn't considered any of that.

I'd rather him on the sideline. They have eyes in the skies. That's why they're wearing headsets.

Ive become really embarrassed by some Bama fans this week. This is not going to be an easy year and you're worried about whether a coach is on the sidelines or in the booth?
This year has started off like shite for some posters. The Joe Namath is back believers need to chill a little.

Everyone is missing the obvious here. Lane Kiffin is on the sideline for no other reason because he doesn't trust the BDS headset communication system can work properly.

Amen!
The haters smell blood in the water and are thriving off it.
And, it blows my mind the people questioning the greatest coach in the game right now. If Coker was the better QB, you don't think Saban would have us at this point?
Jimbo trolled us. Sims is probably the worst we've had during the Saban era but I believe he's the best we've got right now or he wouldn't have played 99% of last week.

I disagree.
Sims was okay last week. Not great, but better than other SEC QBs (Anthony Jennings, etc). He was a ball hair away from being pulled, Saban said that too. But if you have a QB who is doing okay in a tight game, do you gamble on the other guy? Coker will win the job, he just rightfully didn't get a chance last week.

I think you're misunderstanding a lot of the comments. Personally, I'm not questioning Saban at all. I'm questioning the "reasoning" of some of the posters here. Sims was OK. Just ok. He played because he gave us the best chance of winning THAT game. That doesn't mean things can't change if another QB who just stepped on campus can learn the system as well as Sims. Sims, who, by the way, still needed a lot of help from the coaches and playcalling to run the offense.
I think Sims is/was the best we had for that game. It was a close game, and they couldn't risk pulling him to try out another QB when he was playing well enough to win. Sims may REMAIN the best QB we have all year. Who knows? But a lot of our fans are misinterpreting what Sims' playing time meant, in my opinion. I just think AT THAT POINT Saban felt he was less likely to screw up.
And again, before anyone flies off on a tangent, I'm not screaming to pull Sims or start Coker. I'm fine with whatever the situation ends up being. I'm just not as excited about all those 7 yard completions as some others are.
