Bo Scarborough (heal up!)
Damien Harris
Joshua Jacobs
B.J. Emmons
Najee Harris

We've been stockpiling talent on the offensive line for the last couple of recruiting classes. Even with the loss of Cam Robinson to the NFL Draft, I have a pretty good feeling that we will be set running the ball in 2017.

If Hurts can learn to throw the deep ball accurately and consistently, our offense will be very difficult to stop this fall. The weapons are there. We just need to hone their skills.

It will be very difficult to stop even if Hurts were to not improve in passing

I would be very surprised if Hurts didn't improve his passing though.

We've never done a good enough job getting all of our backs involved. I'm hoping that changes with this group

Bama has some dang good receivers too and if hurts doesn't improve, I'm sure TT will be ready to step right in. Can't wait...

If this isn't a top 3 SEC offense, that's a hotseat quality offence for Sark.

Najee Harris could be really special. Can't wait.

All Bama's RBs are young.

They'll all get stronger in the off-season.

Got to be a scary thought for Defensive Coaches around the sec.

Only if we have a respectable enough passing game to make the defenses defend the entire field.

Wouldn't be surprised if a couple transfer after spring. Not enough carries to go around.

Only of Sark gets to pick his own groceries. I think Sarks demeanor and his talent eval skill will make nick give up the keys to this lambo

Unless you've got a guy like Drake who could line up as a WR and be effective, it's really difficult to rotate more than a couple RBs into a meaningful game. If the skill sets are all similar, you just need to find the best two and give them the work.

We could easily put two guys in the backfield at the same time. With Jalen in the gun and a stronger back (Bo or Najee) on one side and a scat back on the other (preferably Jacobs with Damien Harris as a second option). That set would give you a lot of options.

ETA: The only reason Jacobs is preferable in this role is because he's a better pass catcher. Damien is a better overall back imo

You could even lineup in a full house pistol with Jalen and 3 backs. Nevada used that look with Kaepernick

The most difficult thing is trying to decide which back to use, and when.
Sometimes this means only using ONE back. Late in the season, Bo should've never had to share the load 80/20. He was dominating and the other guys weren't. He should've been getting almost every single carry.

It's very possible that this season, Bo and Najee might be a cut above all the other backs. The question is, will we always use the hot hand, or feel like we need to play 5 backsin every game?
In my opinion, Jacobs, Emmons, and Harris are all similar in skill. There's not much seperating those dudes, and they're all dangerous.
But, I think we need a more established #1 guy. Bo could be it. Or, everyone could be underselling Najee, and he might have a huge year as our #1 guy.

Bo can split out wide some. He did it in high school. He's got good hands. Can you imagine that freight train on a bubble screen in space?

I disagree completely. If you can keep rotate to where all your players have fresh legs at the end of the game, you'll always own the fourth quarter. I don't think Bo looks so dominant late against Auburn and UW if he plays every snap of the game early.

If Sark gives the other guys more touches against Clemson, we win that game.

From my recollections (I haven't seen the game since ) thought Harris got fair share of touches even before bo got hurt. He just looked like he was having a tough go of it (in that game, he was good for the season)

He had 5 carries for 24 yards, and Jacobs had 2 carries for 16 yards. Honestly, in that game I was fine with riding Bo, but after he got hurt, we abandoned the run.

Our halfbacks combined for 23 runs compared to 10 runs and 31 passes for Hurts. I don't think that's a good play calling spread for us.

Agreed completely. IMO the reason that our offense sputtered so much in the second half was because we changed the plan of attack when Bo got hurt. We should have fed him and Harris throughout the second half like we were with Bo before he got hurt. Giving the ball to Jacobs only two times was insane IMO.
