Of course he is. Bama won an SEC championship with him starting. This is a year players have traditionally made a big jump in terms of it clicking for them.

I hope you're right, but he's going into his 4th season and still misses the read more often than not on the simple RPOs whenever we call them. Those are high school level reads.

This. He’s a junior in college and still has trouble with basic fundamentals of the position at times. It is what it is. The comments directed toward OBrien were cringey and I’m not a BOB fan.

Milroe has started 14 games. He's 12-2 as a starter. He definitely has things to work on, but damn y'all act like it's simply not possible for him to improve.

He's better than Hurts was after 14 starts. He was 13-31 for 131 yards passing against Clemson. Yeah, he was a freshman, but he wasn't that much better in year 2.

Milroe's issues are fixable.

I’m not sure this is the case, BUT the issues can be schemed around a little better than they have been. It will require Milroe to recognize his own deficiencies and limitations though.

They really are. One thing that'll go a long way towards fixing them is having a center who consistently hits him in the chest with the snap. It'll be a lot easier for him to read the defense, see pressure coming, etc. if he doesn't have his eyes on the ground trying to field the snap.

While this may be true I just don't see it happening. Unless someone comes in and blows everyone away I expect Milroe to be named the starter. It's not necessarily what I want but I feel that's the situation. There's nobody on the roster that put anything on tape to make me believe they'll supplant him for game 1.

Yes.

He played like shite and it sucked but he’s the starter next year.

He needs to really put in work like Hurts did in the offseason. If he doesn’t progress much somehow then we need to reevaluate the QB position for sure…but I think he’ll improve.

Also we have to go to Wisconsin and then play UGA in T town early next year. Do you want a freshman starting? Assuming Simpson is gone of course.

I get emotional in game threads as well and talk a lot of shite but the next day I try to come back to Earth. Milroe has to be better but he should be the guy next year.

But I also want the best player to play. If he’s not the best player come game 1 then we’ll see what happens.

God bless you if you think those guys are in the same STRATOSPHERE with the guys previously mentioned. Hell, you listed one guy that barely plays and another who really only started playing consistently over the last 5-6 games of the year. I'm not saying they are at fault. But let's be real. We don't have any great WR on this team. We had four of them for a stretch there, plus Sark calling plays. Deadly combo.

I get it, but Bama had great success with him despite it. Just improving those things a little bit will be a big improvement to the offense IMO. Add in a center that can snap the ball to him consistently and you have a much more formidable attack.

Be honest, how would you feel if you Milroe entered the transfer portal and we had to play against him as the QB of Ole Miss or Texas

I'd let him walk. I will also go out on a limb and say neither of those programs would be interested in Milroe. I could see him somewhere like Houston or Texas State.

I was harsh last night on Jalen, but I really have fully gone off the train and I know I won’t be able to get back on this offseason. I was kinda delusional about his play because we kept winning, but I feel a Jalen/Tua situation coming and I jumped ship to Tua after the Vanderbilt game that year. I have to see more from Sayin but I’m a Spring Game away from falling into his camp. I’m giving Milroe a lot less credit than I gave Hurts.

ETA: This is not to say Jalen couldn’t win me back. And no, I’m not sure a True Freshman is the best way to start the year no matter how good he might be.

I'm fully on the "tone down the Milroe hype" bus because he has flaws but... There are a lot of schools between Bama and Tx St that would be glad to have his talent. But to be the QB at Bama means you have to be more than athletic and you have to make the offense multi-dimensional. Because the stratosphere where Bama operates... The other teams are really good as well

I assume you were unaware that was more yards than Milroe had yesterday. Hurts also had two touchdowns and zero turnovers in that game compared to zero touchdowns and one turnover for Milroe. And 2016 Clemson was a much better team than this Michigan squad.

More yards on more attempts doesn't mean anything. Bama had more issues with Michigan's defense than they did with Clemson, and I mean those that aren't related to QB.
