Hello Tide fans. I come in peace!.

My wife and I are driving to next weeks game from PA. We have never been to a game in Tuscaloosa, and we are looking forward to the experience.

We are staying in Birmingham so we can play a little golf on the trail, and we are driving over game day.

We do not know the grounds at all.
Any help on best place to park, and where to get a parking pass would be greatly appreciated. We also would love to join a Tide tailgate if we could.

Thank you in advance.

If you don't mind walking a bit from the stadium (1/2-3/4 mile away), there's plenty of places to park for free. You can find parking close to the stadium but you gotta pay ($20 give or take).

I would wear comfortable shoes for walking so you can wander the campus a bit before hand. I know I'm biased as an alum but I think it's a beautiful campus.

There are plenty of bars/restaurants on the Strip (next to the stadium) or downtown to have a nice lunch or dinner or a few beverages. Concessions in the stadium are a long standing bone of contention with the Alabama faithful (Pretty expensive and not all that great of selection). Personally, I would have a meal BEFORE the game and just maybe snack a bit during the game.

Welcome and hope you have a good experience (other than the score in the end)

Plan accordingly leaving your hotel to drive over to Tuscaloosa for the game. Tide 100.9 is the local sports radio station that will give traffic updates.

Go to Strange Brew on the Strip. A friends family owns it. Great coffee drinks and Louisiana style pastries.

Please ask any other questions you have

So what I am hearing seems to tell me to park at the university mall, take the shuttle, and head over to the strip beside the stadium for some food.

The shuttle says it starts hauling people 4 hours befor game time, which gets us over at the stadium in the 3 o'clock range. That would allow us to find a restaurant, grab some dinner while watching some of UGA and Missu, then head over to the game.

Any experience with he shuttle after the game? How long will it take me to get back to my car?

Thanks for all the help.

If I was coming from Pennsylvania to see Tuscaloosa and experience a game there for the first time I’d want to get there more than 4 hrs before kickoff. You’ll want to head into the stadium at least an hour before kickoff as I suspect the gates will be a madhouse. I’d consider the soccer lot (UA gameday link above) and take a shuttle to the heart of campus (it’s about a mile walk otherwise). Too much to see and do to squeeze it in in a few hours. If you want to do the mall, I’d grab an Uber over to campus and get started with the game day experience. My two cents on that

You make a good point. We will get there earlier in the day and see the campus.

I like parking at the DCH lot ran by the Cub Scouts. Decent walk, but get to walk by the Bryant Denny Museum, baseball field, etc. Easy exit as well.
