I certainly hope this is true. I would LOVE Malzhan at AU. This might put them in the cellar of the SEC West for the foreseeable future. I can't think of anything more uninspired (aside from retaining Chizik) from the AU admin. I would be livid if I was an AU fan.

Hire Malzahn, they'll continue to be soft as hell. He will go straight to running his high school offense and AU will implode worse than it already is.
They need a proven coach but this is just too funny.

Not trying to rain on the parade of awesomeness that Malzhan being hired would be, but the guy who runs their Rivals page is still saying he thinks it is Kirby.

This is hilarious. I wonder who has better sources, Tate or Marshall? Marshall's article was pretty specific stating that Smart didn't interview as well as Malzahn.

The same was said last year about Cochran when Kirby Smart was rumored to Ole Miss. Apparently they are pretty close.
