Who makes the biggest impact next year? Overall?

I love Kamara's running style. Reminds me a lot of Dee Hart with the downhill jukes.

Alvin Kamara Highlights

Dee Hart Highlights

However, I think Henry enrolling early gets him the nod in a Jalston Fowler type role, plus I think Kamara and Tenpenny are too similar for both to thrive right now.

Jones looks really good as well, and definitely appears to be more powerful than Tenpenny and Kamara.

What are y'alls thoughts?

I think they all bring a little something different.

Kamara is likely going to be a true APB and get more of his work in the receiving game and running outside the tackles. He's in the Demarco Murray mold. Lean, fast, quick, doesn't posess great power but isn't completely void of power either

Tennpenny is a more talented Glen Coffee type back

I see a lot of Carnell Williams in Tyren Jones, I think he and Henry will be the 1-2 punch after yeldon leaves. When Tyren throws his head back he has "football speed" like very few people

I see a lot of Eddie George in Derrick Henry.

I have no idea how we keep them all happy, they are all very talented running backs, and kamara is the only one I could see switching positions.

It's a great problem to have.

I think AT and TJ both redshirt and bulk up a little bit. Henry will be in the rotation from day one. Kamara could end up with a RS too depending on how the coaches feel about kenyan drake

I see Henry getting equal carries with Fowler, both behind Yeldon, and I think Henry sees some time at FB and H-Back like Fowler. I think Tenpenny redshirts, and I think Kamara will catch a few passes and take one like 35ish yards to the house, but probably in garbage time.

No Tyren Jones?

Henry will play. I think Kamara will be like an NFL 3rd down back. The guy we throw screens to and what not. Tenpenny is going to be awesome

I think I'm higher on Kamara than y'all are.

Of course, once Bo Scarbarough comes, all bets are off.

I'm not sure if we are going to use Fowler at running back this year. I think Drake will back up Yeldon.

FYI, we signed another badass RB by the Tyren Jones.

I see it being a backup TB by committee. All of them will get a similar number of carries. Yeldon will carry the ball at least 230 times this year.

My bad. Didn't mean to leave him out. I guess you are high on him?

Interesting. Do you think any of them get a redshirt?

I don't have access to the practices like some of the posters on here. It's just my opinion. I just have a hard time believing that all of these top HS RBs decided to come to Bama without getting reassurances from Saban that they'll get a chance to play. There's a reason why Saban stockpiled all these RBs. We're going to have a young, inexperienced QB starting in 2014. That means Bama will probably ground and pound and use the short passing game relentlessly like they did in 2008 and 2009. There's going to be plenty of carries and touches to go around. I don't think it's out of the question to see them all get between 50-100 carries next year.

I have been told by staff Tyren had the highest grade of any back they evaluated in this class. there is only so high a player can be graded using Saban's system and others have graded out as high as they can go at their position by our staff but Jones was the only one in this class they had top marks on at every area of evaluation........doesn't mean he's better than anyone so no need to start arguing, just passing it along.

From watching their tapes, I thought Tyren Jones was the most impressive running back out of the bunch. His quickness, elusiveness, and explosiveness was just off the charts. Kamara was impressive too but he ran behind a great offensive line. There was a lot of enormous holes for Kamara to run through and he was hardly getting touched before reaching the second level in most of his big runs. I was pretty surprised that a lot of scouting services had Jones rated as the lowest rated RB out of the bunch. Did he play against lesser competition or something?

Nope, both he and Kamara played in what several regard as the toughest classification in the nation. Most analysts seem to think he has already peaked athletically. He is definitely the most SEC-ready now, but they pretty much think he is what he is. Not saying I agree, but that's the general knock I have been seeing.

SMDH at this thread title. There is a reason RB ratings are the worst of all positions by scouting services. Adrian Peterson and Marshawn Lynch are currently the only top 10 NFL RBs that were rated as elite by these services. Guys like Ray Rice (3 star), Arian Foster (3 star), Doug Martin (2 star), Chris Johnson (2 star), Alfred Morris (2 star) were not highly rated. There is a reason Tyren was the #1 rated RB on Bama's board [versus what the scouting services rated]. They rated Jones lower because he didn't attend any of their offseason camps.

Tyren Jones is the real. Faster, quicker Mark Ingram. Kid was a 1 man offense in the best classification in the nation (2,400 yards as a junior and was well ahead of the 2,400 yard pace when he was injured with about 1,700 yards as a senior). He was on pace to set the Georgia large class rushing record (single season and career) when he was injured this past season (100% healthy now). Great quickness, elusiveness and strength. He and Kamara are also both elite pass catchers out of the backfield. Henry and Tenpenny are not natural pass catchers nor good blockers at this juncture.

Tyren Jones Highlights

Jones is putting in major work under his dad who was an All Conference wing-back, slot WR at Grambling (under Eddie Robinson) and was in camp for a couple of years with the Colts. His training regimen is similar to what NFL RBs do during the offseason.

Definitely think Tyren is the best RB in this class.

Don't get too upset, I just forgot to add him in. I think he will be great. He just slipped my mind at the time.
