We have no passing game as of right now. Teams are better off just stacking the box and playing man.
We'll throw for some easy yards vs Fresno State, Colorado State, and Vanderbilt the next 3 weeks, then later in the schedule, when we play for real defenses, we'll struggle again.

Agree. I'd like to see the playcalling favor passing the ball all over the field to develop Jalen. The running backs will be fine.

I somewhat agree with you but he gets a pass from me because I really believe their defense is gonna do that to most quarterbacks this year. He is our guy and I will support him. We can't expect Tua to have the extraordinary poise and leadership that Hurts had as a freshman. Bring him along slowly and if Hurts get passed later in the year then it happens. I am rooting for Hurts though. Next week will answer our questions.

Alright. We did. They did.
So the score is pretty much how close the game was.
We beat an elite team yesterday. The game was never in jeopardy in the 4th quarter. So I'm pretty please with the outcome as well.

Fresno State won't answer the question if we're talking about competing for titles. It will only serve to pad the stats. LSU and Auburn will be a pretty good clue though.

If by a lot you mean 3, then I agree.
The OL got whipped

He gets a solid C from me.
Still thinks to run first rather than find the open safety valve.
I was really hoping for more dramatic improvement.

Anyone that watched that game and thinks Hurts got worse, should probably give up football because it's unlikely they will ever understand the game.

He's not worse, he's just not that much better.
But playcalling didn't help him much.
With Kiffin on the sideline we win that game by at least two more scores.

playcalling look as tho we are still protecting jalen

But Kiff protected Hurts without hiding him. He gave him opportunities to succeed. I feel like Daboll is hiding him, at least that's what I feel after one freaking game.
I reserve the right to change my opinion.

His throws when he had time looked MUCH better. His ability to scan the field and go to a 2nd or 3rd option is TBD. He never had time to show if he could do it last night.

Francois in the first half had way more time than Jalen. The 5 times Jalen wasn't running for his life he made good throws.

That's correct we were not getting pressure like FSU until corrections and blitz were applied.

Are you referring to the one throw to a wide open Ridley? Or the 9 other completions that went for a whopping 40 yards?

Francois did...
For the first half.
When we adjusted at the break and after that he had no time. He and ended the game with a virtually identical completion percentage as Jalen, similar ypa as Jalen, same number of TD passes as Jalen, a far worse QBR than Jalen, was sacked more than Jalen, and threw two more interceptions than Jalen (who, in case you missed it, threw none).
BOTH defenses took control, but one QB made smart, near mistake free decisions all night and this his team won the game. That guy was the one wearing Crimson. some of you may want a flashy QB that loses. As for me, I'd prefer to stick with the guy that wins games.

Setting up linemen to be able to hold their blocks and succeed is part of the qbs job, mccarron was a master at it.
One step to the left or the right can allow a linemen to sustain his blocks a second longer.
Hurts doesn't seem wired that way.

You guys are impossible. OL played like complete crap and now that's hurts fault as well.

Apparently you didn't watch the game and just checked the box score. Too bad. If you'd watched the game you wouldn't make such an ill-informed statement.
I'd be referring to the throw to Ridley.
I'd also be referring to the 20 yard throw to #11 in the end zone that went through the WR's hands.
And the perfect 24 yard out to Jeury for a first down on 3rd and 8 that was called back on a Cottton hold.
And the perfect in-stride 20 yard crossing route to Ridley for a first down on 3rd and 10.
And the throw-him-open pass on the 2 point conversion.
Again, I'm really sorry you missed the game because it was great to see Jalen making the mid range throws he could never hit last season.
