So, if we play Clemson, you don't think they have better overall receivind core, a better rb, and a better qb?

Strong has another year on his buyout. I think we'd have to pay him $2.5m just to match what he's going to ready get.

Absolutely not

They'll give us all sorts of issues, but this is the toughest WR/TE/QB group we'll play from a pure passing game perspective.

That doesn't excuse being dog shite.

Pete Folding will always look great against terrible to mediocre offenses and completely clueless against competent ones. He's got to go.

This is what I was saying when alot of other people were all like "he is great now!" "Look we have developed".

I even said our lb of play is awful and anyone who throws over the middle of the field will march right down the field.

Seriously.

We had one outlier game, led by one of our former long term coaches. Outside of that single example, we are top 5 in every defensive category that matters.

No more emergency scrubs on defense like last year. We have basically a full complement of players, and he has molded them into what has become the best defense in the country over the past several weeks.

It's not even debatable.

Better RB, absolutely. But their Oline can't run block.

Trask is a better COLLEGE QB, right now, than Lawrence. But Lawrence's ceiling is just immense. Trask is way more accurate with the ball though. Even if he doesn't have the huge arm.

Recieving core is actually well below average for Clemson. They are good players, but there is no Pitts or Toney on that team.

It's easy to blame Golding for last night's performance but I don't think Kirby Smart, Jeremy Pruitt, or any other great defensive coordinator we've had in the past could have prevented what happened last night. Florida's offense was just too good and too dynamic. On the vast majority of plays last night, the defense was in position to make plays and get stops. The only Florida scoring drive that was absolutely inexcusable was their last one of the first half and Saban let Golding have it. For the most part the defense didn't look lost. Florida's offense was just making plays despite us being in good position to stop them.

Also...it wasn't Golding's fault that Jobe was lined up offside. That play changed the game and gave Florida the life they needed to bring the game down to the wire.

I can agree with that to a certain extent. The defensive players were in position for the most part on several of those big plays by Florida (50 yard TD where Surtain was in perfect position is the glaring one). Just frustrating that it happens like this every time we play a good O. Not saying Kirby or Pruitt would have shut out Florida, but I do think the scoring would have been a little lower. We do in general open ourselves up to higher scoring games with the quick strike offenses.

But a trend is a trend and Golding consistently gives up buckets of points to good O’s, and that’s a problem.

Exactly. Looking at the team offensive numbers. OSU is right behind us, but in a joke of a conference and only 6 games. Down a bit, it Florida and then Clemson. Florida has performed well all year against better teams. Clemson played in the ACC which I refuse to believe is better defensively. ND is further done then all of them.

I think Florida is the best offensive team we have played all year (Ole Miss is statically better). Our defense should put up better numbers in the playoffs.

Florida has the bests offensive talent of any team NOT named Alabama. Gotta figure that in as well.

Wrong! We are about to play, possibly, two teams that have far better talent than UF. They are gonna torch us. Our only chance will be to outscore them and hope for a couple of turnovers. Golding is shite. Moses is slow to react and doesn't play with any intensity. I am ready to see someone else in those positions.

This is wrong from the eye test and stats. UF has one of the best offenses in the country running away. Pitts and Toney are some of the best in the country. Trask is one of the best in the country and better than Lawrence.

I understand the stats tell a story. I also understand that Clemson has the #1 pick overall at qb and the #1 running back that will be taken in the draft. Their receivers are rangy and very good. They have more options which is gonna make them tougher to beat than UF. Jmo
