Saban tried to hire him away from Detriot before, wouldn't leave partly because his son was playing football there.

Coincidentally, he played at the same school as Nussmeier and I believe coached him too.

Worked for Saban once, tried to hire him before at Bama. Currently unemployed, so it's a valid thought IMO.

One thing to keep in mind about kiffin is that he's not a good head coach. I believe he was the OC for the 2005 USC Trojans, not bad I'd say.
