It’s Going To Be An Important First Year

Every player and recruit is being told that the program is no longer the power house it was just days ago. They’re being told that DeBoer won’t be successful in the SEC. That the numbers won’t be the same outside the PAC 12. That he’s an offensive coach (if you’re a defensive player). That our team is no longer a “team”. Not to waste time here when they can leave and be successful somewhere already proven.

It’s important that DeBoer makes a statement this season. We don’t have to be as dominate as we’ve been necessarily but he needs to be successful at doing what he’s always done. Strong offense and highlight the playmakers. Prove that he can do here what he’s done everywhere else. Let the recruits and players see that they can be successful and are capable of showcasing their skill set. Hire a DC that coaches that “Alabama Does” mentality.

If he’s not able to the narrative will quickly shift to “he had a roster compiled by Nick Saban and still couldn’t win”. This first year is very important.
