I think the better question is who was the last 5 star player we pulled in prior to Saban.

Andre Smith.

But how many touches are of the "jet sweep" variety. Sure it's nice to be involved, but these are not the touches they're gonna be seeng in the NFL

I see what you are saying, but when scouts see a 190 lb WR run through defenses like butter even from the back field, they are going to like that. Also, plenty of NFL teams run those types of plays. I'm just saying, even the jet sweeps and slip screens aren't all for naught.

More plays from tempo and more "passes" from the jet sweeps/pop passes.

There are more and more NFL teams running up tempo these days too. And we threw a TON of WR screens and pop passes to Julio. Even to the point where fans were complaining about it like they are now.

Did not bother LSU with WR's and they never had a QB that could get them the ball. Ditto for Auburn who signed really good receivers in a running system. We also just signed the #1 WR in Jeudy.

Just stating what I think is likely/logical to transpire: the less receivers are involved, the less incentive 5star receivers have to sign with us.

Saban has been pretty vocal about his frustration in not getting playmakers i.e. Ridley, Stewart, Dieter, Foster (?) the ball....need more "expolsive plays".

I don't think its a lack of trying, Hurts just can't deliver right now.

Agree 100%

Ridleys post game comments last week sounded like he was frustrated, too.

I'm not disagreeing that more explosive plays are a good thing. I just don't believe this year will have some kind of impact on WR recruiting.

What Ridley Comments are you referring to?
