We might as well just come out and say, 'we dgaf about basketball'. And that's sad.

He should have been fired 2 years ago. Now its becoming a sick joke that is not funny.

He decided not to come or be considered for the job when AG was hired. Why would he come now. We can consider anyone we want but that does not mean they will come.

Go throw big money at Brad Stevens. He's got to be getting tired of the NBA experience already. He would be a perfect match with Saban. When he had success at Bama, people would just mention how he failed in the pros.

izzo would be a great hire, but i'm sure i'm not the only one not holding my breath. at this point it dont have to be a home run hire. just find a coach that can bring back respectability, toughness and consistency.

The Celtics love Stevens, although I don't get what they're doing:

I don't know why people think he should've been fired in 2013. We were a year removed from making the tourney, on the bubble for most of the year, beat a ranked Kentucky team,(yeah they weren't that good, but still) and made a deep run in the NIT.

Now was that a good year? Meh. But it wasn't enough to get fired over.

Well there's also the fact Grant mismanaged the roster from 2012-2013. We lost one senior, yet our roster shrank from 14 down to 10, and injuries to Steele and Engstrom left us very thin.

Not saying he deserved to be fired in 2013, but he's lucky I wasn't his AD because he would not have made it to the SEC tournament last year.

I know this is impossible, but it's great to fantasize about. We'd have the best coach in both major sports. What an era for an Alabama fan would that be?

Dream over. My kingdom for Howland.

Not sure what he earns, but if Grant is worth 2 mill, He's a good 4 mill & >.

Obviously we're still in the black on profits due to CNS right?

Unite the man with his friend, no matter the cost.
It would inject FIRE into our b Ball program, and send waves across the SEC, and Ncaa. IZZO knows the model. CNS knows the model. We have the resources to build the model. SECN {aka} RECN would provide much more spotlight for Izzo and the tide. I have no doubt he would be an ace recruiter for us. (I would think CNS could lend a hand or 2 here or there if need be).
And we would essentially secure Saban here until he's a corpse we can roll out on homecoming games. That's at least 4-5 more titles people!!

The time is now, NOW is the perfect time.

We could afford to pay Izzo like Saban.

Lulz. There's a better chance of hiring Tom Izzo and those odds are somewhere around negative infinity.

As for the OP, I can't imagine any scenario where we don't fire Grant. I suppose a miracle SEC tournament title run into the NCAA tournament would save him, but let's be real. I love the guy and I still think he'll go on to have success elsewhere, but it just isn't happening here. If we brought him back next year he'd be in his 7th season and would boast an 0-1 NCAA tournament record at Alabama. Our bar has to be far higher than that.

Now there's a realistic grand slam hire. I can't believe he's still out of work, he has to be itching to get back in the game.
