There's a time when a person has to say what's on his mind, even though he knows it's gonna hurt.

But before I say another word, just a shout out to Jalen. "I love you buddy!" I do.

And if we were in the same room I'd give you a hug and I'd say this to you as gently as is possible.

There has been another quarterback that I've longed for and I've marveled at. But it doesn't mean I love you less.

And he knows that we can't start him, and perhaps we never will. But he also know there's something lacking that only he can fill...

You see, I'm torn between two quarterbacks. And I'm feelin like a fool. Loving both of you is breaking all the rules.

You mustn't think you've failed me just because there's someone else
You were the first real love I ever had And all the things I ever said, I swear they still are true. For no one else can have the part of me I gave to you.

And Tua, I couldn't really blame you if you turned and transferred out.
But with everything I feel inside, I'm asking you to stay.

You see, I'm torn between two quarterbacks. And I'm feelin like a fool. Loving both of you is breaking all the rules.

But I have to confess mine is borrowed from the 1976 hit "Torn Between Two Lovers" by Mary MacGregor.

It does capture the strange anguish I feel over our QB situation. Any other year I would be totally happy with Hurts. But then Tua steps in... with that spin move and dart throwing, the impish grin and Hawaiian war paint, and that little peroxide squirrel's tail laying atop his head. And all of a sudden, Jalen, the Errol Flynn of college quarterbacks is, is looking more human.

This is going to be a battle.

It's almost like it's not fair. All the years of QB mediocrity we suffered through, and now this titanic struggle unfolds pitting brother against brother and poster against poster ... and by spring, what was once a glorified scrimmage will be a raging blood sport with half the crowd team Jalen and the other team Tua. Tua firing lasers and Jalen dancing down the field like some super athletic version of Fred Astaire.

It's gonna get crazy.

And let me just say, I'm a big believer in Tua. But I don't think Jalen goes down easy.

But Achilles would not sit behind Hector for three years. Nope, one or the other goes home on their shield.

I started a thread that got whacked, despite it being a level headed non-flame baiting one(thanks whatever mod did that.. ) but what do y'all think of this possibility?

Let me point out first that I'm 100% team jalen this year. I do not want a freshman again running our offense with a proven leader there.

But it's undeniable that tua showed some great promise today, his pick was a mistake any and all freshman could make and will make(we saw it with jalen last year) tua has performed well in any opportunity he has been given this year. This is just a hypothetical I thought about where jalen sees how well our offense ran with tua in(and I greatly attribute that to them being beaten and worn out but it was still mostly their 1st team) but maybe he has some sort of wake up?

I just have a feeling jalen may turn the corner and realize the potential we see he has cuz he realizes that he can legitimately be pushed. Or maybe I'm just hoping haha

Just my 2 cents

No offense, but I think the potential for both players is readily apparent.

We can, as well, hope that Tua continues to improve, and since he seems to be a true dual threat, as in pass as well as run, it will benefit the team.

I'm just happy he's getting more playing time because the more he plays, the better he gets, and I still think we're going to need him.

Kinda reminds me of Danny Wuerrfel in that he makes it looks effortless while putting the ball on a dime.

He also has the quickest release I have ever saw from a freshman. This kid is the shite.

I'd say Jalen has a stronger arm, but I mean Tua has a good arm. Not one of those super strong arms, but those guys are usually not as accurate. Tua has exceptional ball placement.

And Tua "pulls the string" way faster.

Ya his release is lightning fast and he has a beautiful throwing motion. Can't wait to see him once he is developed and is ready to take the reigns.
