TJ isn't a violent runner like Lacy or Trent.

I couldn't care less if he's a violent runner or not. The fact of the matter is he picks up yards and he scores touchdowns. There is more than one way to run the football.

He needs to talk to Tiki Barber about fixing the fumbles.

I'm with you. He's effective and that is all that matters. Once he fixes the fumbles everything will be fine. The whole "he goes down at the line" argument is only really this past season. Didn't happen near as much as a Freshman, it was just a "slump" and for that to be his "slump" (well fumbles too), it ain't that bad.

I think a lot of people, myself included, just prefer the violent runners like Trent or Eddie because they make the defense give up quicker. TJ could run lower, and if he did he'd be even better, but it isn't the type of back he is. He's a great back on third down because of his ability as a receiver (though this past season he had a lot of drops) and his ability to block. He's a good runner because he has insane burst and good vision. He isn't a burner, and he isn't a bruiser. Nothing wrong with it as long as he produces, but some people just think he could be better. I've got no problem with how he's played, and while I think he starts in 2014, I think Henry may end up with the most carries simply because he can do more damage to a defense than Yeldon.

I think the reason he didnt go down at the line his freshman year is because he had a bruiser back in front of him. I think Yeldon could be incredibly effective as the no. 2 back with Henry opening up holes in front of him. Then we have Drake too, to bring in.

I was so high on Yeldon in 2012, wanted him to get more carries. I thought there was kind of a drop off post LSU game 2012, but it could have just been EL taking the spotlight.

I do think all of this will be evaluated this offseason and with Saban hitting the reset button on the process, I could see Henry getting the first carries, and Yeldon brought in after. Not necessarily rotating series, but some strategy in there to change up pace for the defense.

You also have to remember there were three 1st Team All-Americans blocking for Yeldon on the offensive line in his freshman year. Offensive linemen make running backs look good.

Exactly right and like it or not when he went in 2012 teams didn't stack the box quite like they did with Lacy. That is the nature of being a back up RB. You get carries on down/distance situations that are usually less than ideal.

This has got to be a joke. Yeldon lost 4 fumbles in 2013. So did Tre Mason. Jeremy Hill is an outlier with 1 fumble lost, but other SEC running backs are comparable; Alex Collins for Arkansas and Mike Davis for South Carolina lost 3. We were spoiled with Trent and Mark, who never fumbled. I wish TJ fumbled less, but it's not bad enough for me to criticize him about it. Anyone who thinks that a 6 YPC back with 2 1,000 yard seasons after 2 years should be benched is an idiot who I have no respect for, because they do not respect the people who put on the jersey every Saturday for our university.

I don't think anyone here will lose any sleep upon learning that some anonymous guy with 9 posts doesn't respect them.

No one here thinks Yeldon should be benched because he lost 4 fumbles, but because we think Henry is better. Intelligent fans get that.

For the record I think Yeldon is awesome. He lit it up behind an inconsistent offensive line. He has some minor ball security problems that he can clean up. I think he ends up a late first / early second round pick.
