You guys can complain about the haters all you want, but the fact is he fumbles too much.

I don't think Yeldon sucks nor am I bashing him.

I just wish he'd hold on to the damn ball.

Most of his fumbles have been just perfect hits on the ball. He has done so much more good for our team than bad. The guy is an animal.

Has he himself acknowledged the issue? I know we had a back awhile ago with fumbleittis, He carried a ball with him everywhere, even slept with it.

Criticism is not hate and does not indicate disrespect or a lack of appreciation. The dude is a great Football player, but he struggles with Ball Security, which is something that should be fair game for discussion.

Regarding Lacy, when he had his fumble issues, he was not our feature back. We had a couple of 1st-rd backs ahead of him. At the same time, Yeldon has had some key fumbles during his two seasons here.

Pointing that out does not take anyway from what he has brought to the team/program, because without him we don't win the 'ship in the 2012 season, but at the same time flaws need to be pointed out and addressed.

Wrong. Yeldon's sophomore slump is not being able to hold on to the fricking football.

Mark this down, Henry is today and will be in the future a better running back than TJ Yeldon.

This times 1,000.

If you have to start a defense of Yeldon with the words "Most of his fumbles...", you've already lost the argument.

As far as people smoking crack, that would be someone who automatically assumes that he will get the problem corrected just because Eddie Lacy did. That line of thinking makes zero snse. Zero.

The next time a TV analyst comments about Yeldon's yards after contact will be the first time. But why should we expect yards after contact when we just hope he's still holding the damn ball after contact?

And we're not Georgia. Georgia fans might be content with perpetual 2 and 3 loss seasons. So they might be content with a 6 YPC who puts the ball on the ground in big spots in big games. That's one way a 14-0 or 13-1 team devolves into 10-2 or 9-3.

Here's hoping Yeldon gets the problem fixed. But if he doesn't, I don't care if he never gets another carry outside of mop-up duty.

If he ever learns to run behind his pads he can be great. Good now but runs too tall.

I love TJ. Big fan. His fumbles this past year were so un-clutch and damaging, you can't overlook them. He'll get it corrected, or he won't be the man. That simple.

Deep, it's good to see you over here - always enjoy your posts. TJ's a great back but expectations are higher at Bama than they are UGA.

Ah, yes, the author of the "most of his fumbles..." excuse. And you say my comments are retarded.

Hey guys lets save the that comment is retarded for the barners.

Yeldon does need to run behind his pads better, its the type of back he is. AP backs (Yeldrake) usually aren't great at two things Ball security and running behind their pads. Both need to and certainly can get better at it. They both have great burst and are surprisingly physical for their body types/running style.

Basically how I feel. As great as TJ can be, you cannot ignore his fumbling issue and he does need to work on it in the off-season. But, as I said in another thread, when TJ hangs on to the ball and runs with conviction he is as good as anyone and better than most.

all of this, just because i didnt put on my crimson colored glasses and proclaim tj the greatest back in the history of backs.

well guess what, all of this still dont change my mind. i dont care who proclaims what about tj.

i dont think i even mentioned the fumbleitis he has. anybody thats honest enough to look at it with ay sense of reality. will see, tj goes down at the line of scrimmage quite easily. his very best run against ga in the seccg was that lil short 3-4 yard gain he had running thru a couple tacklers. unfortunately, those runs are the exception, not the rule for tj. if tj gets hit at the los he goes down the majority of the time.

look tj is a good back, never said he wasnt. but henry and drake are both better. they both run harder are faster and i expect that to be shown next season.

so blast me all you want. we'll revisit this thread next season.

It's really not even close. It's actually clear as fricking day. Yeldon is not the best no 1 bruiser back in our system. It pisses me off and I melt every time this topic is brought up.

Yeah, there is no argument about that. TJ isn't a violent runner like Lacy or Trent. He does break tackles, but what people are saying is he doesn't have the same killer mentality. He's a great back, you can't deny that, but Henry is the only back we have that we've seen run violently consistently.
