I kinda wish Jon Allen cross trained some at Jack

Let me clarify, he's been awesome and our Jack LBs are doing fine. But when we go 34 I hate that he is usually out because we put in all 300 pounders. Imagine Robinson/Payne/Reed on the DL and Allen at Jack in base. Obviously he's bigger than all our Jacks, but he's very athletic, I think he could've done it. I'm certainly not complaining or anything, I'm just saying it would've been interesting to see him still in the game with the R/P/R guys in the lineup in regular.

maybe so. if he's lined up at Jack and the offense schemes to get him matched up with a fast RB/HB/TE, do you really think he'd be good in coverage? i think he's about 280+ these days. He's a guy that some fans might argue the S&C team put some bad weight on. But I think he's performing very well and his NFL future is definitely at DL.

I'm surprised some people think of Allen as a bust. He isn't a starter in base, but still he's a starter against more spread teams and is our leading sacker.
Plus he ran down Tre Mason, that was fun.

Not a bust. Guy bulked up and is playing in a scheme where DL don't get the sexy stats. He has improved each year and has played very well this year.
