Under a heavy pass rush, there were non better than McCarron and Sims. McCarron did it with his arm and Sims with his legs. Coker, McElroy, and JPW pretty much all terrible under pressure. But most QBs are.

1. AJ
2. McElroy
The others are tied for #3.

I agree. Blake was probably my favorite, but AJ's body of work gives him the edge. Not sure how anyone could have Greg above either of those 2.

I really don't get how everything that goes wrong with our offense is Coker's fault (such as being put on his arse because our oline can't hold their blocks, and receivers dropping passes,)
Everything that goes wrong with our Offense is not Coker's fault. OL has had some awful play, some awful penalties, our WRs drop a shite ton of passes. I don't think anyone will disagree.
However, Coker can't complete the pass down field. He is one of the worst QBs we've had in throws 20+ yards downfield. He arguably has the best arm out of the 5. He also has a slow release and it effects our screen passing.
No not everything is on Coker. He is merely mediocre.

I think Coker is serviceable. He's not hot garbage, nor is he tGOAT.
Hear, hear!
I get so tired of the "Coker is dogshit" narrative. Is he the best we've had? No. Is he better than the majority of college QBs? Yes.
I would argue if he started the Ole Miss game we are undefeated.

Coker is a bigger version of JP Wilson. Was talking about this yesterday with someone, it's a solid comparison. AJ, Greg and Sims are top 3 easy. Coker and Wilson are tied, but Coker can move up if we win some hardware with him. I'm still hopeful Coker's best game is ahead of him.

AJ
Blake
Greg
JPW
Al Roker
I'm giving the edge to AJ based on body of work, but if Blake had as good of an OL in 14 as J had in 12 and 11, he very well could have been better. The same goes for if he had multiple years of experience like AJ.
I like Coker better than I did pre-season, but he's serviceable at his best.

1. AJ
2. Greg (though I think if we had another year of Sims, he would surpass him)
3. Sims
4. Coker
5. JPW
Give Coker the nod over JPW because he's playing behind an inconsistent Oline, he's made plays with his legs, he could win a natty, and dear God JPW was fricking frustrating to watch time after time. I know the team sorta sucked in '07, but he would force so many balls to DJ Hall on a consistent basis. Also he would get rattled anytime there was pressure. Let us remember that despite going 12-2 in '08, JPW had a 10-6 TD-INT ratio. Coker's isn't much better this year and that 08 team was very run heavy, but Jesus.

Let not forget the talent that jpw had vs the talent cooker has. Night and day can't even compare.

Hmm, I would say that JPW had a substantially better Oline in 2008 than Coker has in 2014. JPW also had a freshman Julio. Running back is at least comparable seeing as how he had two remarkable RBs whereas Coker just has one really good RB.
To say it is night and day is incorrect.

Had to go look back and your right the line was better but cooker doesn't help because he doesn't step up in the pocket he always tries to roll out.

Looks completely right to me.
If I had my druthers I'd pick them in that exact order.

It's hard to step up when in a pocket when the pocket doesn't exist.
And what's up with the "Cooker" shite? Is that your way of trying to "look cool?"

There's no real reason to rank Greg above Blake unless you're giving him credit for the BCSCG that he did jack shite in.
Long ball = Blake
Legs and elusiveness = Blake
Quick release aiding screens = Blake
accuracy, intermediate game, reads, leadership = wash

Always seems to get overlooked that despite him being a 5th year starter who lost the guy that would have been his #1 WR in Foster.
He has also been put in more obvious passing downs than any of Saban's QBs I can remember. We have this odd fetish this season for wanting to go backwards on first down.
All of the guys we have mentioned have looked like hot garbage at times as first year starters, AJ especially.
Blake nearly got benched in the Iron Bowl.

Coker also has the worst pass blocking oline of the CNS era. It isn't close.
Actually that would have been Wilson.
McCarron - Thanks Coop and OL
Sims - Thanks Coop and Kiffin
McElroy - Thanks Julio
JPW - Five offensive coordinators, Chris Capps... Not much to work with beyond Julio
Coker - Will thank Kiffin and Ridley at some point

Nah. In 2008 Wilson was behind three upperclassmen that were drafted in the third round or above either that draft or the next.
Coker gets a hobbled Cam Rob, a young Ross P, a good center, Alphonse Taylor, and Dominick Jackson. At best, two of those linemen will be drafted in the third round or above within the next two drafts.
