- Clemson gives up 4.80 yards per rush on 1st down. That's 77th in the country.

- Clemson gave up 3.60 yards per rush against P5 teams

- Clemson gave up 4.04 yards per rush against T25 teams

Against S&P+ Top 25 Rush Offenses (Non-Auburn as they were awful until October)
#2 FSU - 163 yards, 5.82 YPC
#3 Pitt - 156 yards, 4.73 YPC
#10 Louisville - 273 yards, 4.96 YPC
#23 Ohio State - 88 yards, 3.83 YPC

FYI - We are #9

Even Ohio State, with that clunker of a performance, averaged almost 4 YPC.

This isn't a great rush defense, at all. And against us - that's a bad place to start.

FYI - here are our worst rushing games this season by YPC

Western Kentucky - 124 yards, 3.18 YPC
LSU - 216 yards, 4.24 YPC
Auburn - 203 yards, 4.61 YPC
Kentucky - 173 yards, 4.68 YPC

vs FBS Winning Teams
3.63 YPC vs 3.52 YPC

vs Ranked (AP) Teams

Now, on the flip side, they have been better since the Pitt game. However, only one of their opponents has had a rushing offense worth a damn, and Ohio State still ran for 3.83 YPC.

#109 Wake Forest - 71 yards, 1.97 YPC
#107 South Carolina - 111 yards, 3.83 YPC
#51 Virginia Tech - 102 yards, 2.91 YPC
#23 Ohio State - 88 yards, 3.83 YPC

So even in their rejuvenated stretch of 4 games, against 0 Top 20 rushing offenses efficiency wise, they still gave up 3.02 YPC.

We're gonna run on Monday night boys.

I watched that OSU abomination of course and Samuel had 55 of those on one carry in the 4th quarter when it was already out of hand.

A bit skewed as that game was over

The Ohio state game has every body head turned around. Clemson had a month to pick out all of Ohio state's many deficiencies. They have a week with us, and have no film on what we will do on offense. Any tendency scouting they might have done is worthless now. Whereas we know exactly what we are getting with them.

Not sure I agree with that? Are we going to install a completely new offense in one week?

Clemson doesn't suck. I could give you the numbers and I could tell you about our generational passrush or simply point out the absurd amount of 5 star players on the team. I won't do that though. I just have one question for you. With everything on the line would you bet against Nick Saban?

No, but the play caller has changed. Same plays, but the tendencies are based on who's calling the plays

Sark has our offense clicking well and the practices by a few trusted accounts has not been better than this for years. Defense is salty as usual. Our secondary is playing really well. They don't do great against the run and we do that pretty well. We are fine and I think we can handle what they bring.

People need to stop referring to the Pitt game for a confidence builder. At this point, it is meaningless. Remember when Ohio State lost to a 6-6 Va Tech team in 2014? No way in hell they could beat Bama if they lost to a 6-6 VT squad.

And sure enough, they beat us.

I'm not saying I'm not confident, as I am. I like what I'm hearing coming out of the practice reports. But people using the Pitt game as a fall back as to why we're going to win is just dumb.

It appears to me Clemson is peaking at the right time, I really wonder though if they'll be Able to maintain that energy. The Ohio State victory was pretty emotional, but then there's a revenge factor in their minds, so more than likely they will work hard to stay focused

Bama wins 34-31

I think Sark will break tendencies and keep Clemson off balance. We need to execute with precision, but if we can do that all game long moving the ball may come easier than expected.

On top of that, the defense is angry about last year.
