But if Sims played the entire game on Saturday, is it reasonable to assume the coaching staff felt on that day that Sims gave us the best chance to win?

Yes it is. And why did they think that? Because he's a 5th year senior and Coker just got on campus. Sims SHOULDN'T frick up.

I think that many of us our forgetting that before Trickett was injured last year, West Virginia had beaten #11 Oklahoma State 30-21 and had only lost to Oklahoma 16-7. They went on to lose a lot of their defense after that ....leading to their dismal season. This is not a bad team and they will win some games this year if Trickett stays healthy

That place is slowly dying and deservedly so. Like many, I looked for a place to land after the dissolution of TideSports Free, and was over at wooly for a while. But you've got to look long and hard to find any legitimate football discussion at that intellectual sinkhole. It 99% grab-assing, infighting between invented personas, and trolling of their own fellow posters and fanbase.

They're all fricking clown shoes, and very soon there will be no football discussion at all. Nearly every poster actually interested in talking about the sport has left. Being over there is like watching the View, if The View was ignorant pseudo-supporters of Bama sports with little to no interest in discussing the sport of football, but with a lot of interest in arguing about anything else. The less important, the better.

My apologies to some here, but much of my OP angst was because of their drivel. It sickens me.

Im not saying that WVU is a bad team, or they have a bad offense. But to say that Slyve didnt have a bad game is ridiculous. He was abused all day.

I agree I was actually embarrassed for the kid...although he was covering what looked to be a fine receiver and rarely seemed out of position... I just think the guy was too much for him, he had about 4 inches and 30 pounds on Sylve

Thew problem seemed to be he got no safety help. Every time they got him one on one they threw it up and there wasnt anything that could be done about it.

He was abused by a really good WR. He was rarely out of position, which is encouraging. He'll be targeted all season if he's on the field, so hopefully he improves with more experience. Jones looked better as the season wore on last year after getting abused by Evans and Manziel.

Not really. I still have nightmares of his play in the Auburn game He looks like he might've improved over the offseason, but I'll wait until we have a better sample size before I eat some crow.
