More referring to last year as well. It's not like this was Clemson's only title appearance.

Nothing changes until you actually win.

They still had to pay for the tickets and travel, regardless of whether or not they won.

But who's going to be more motivated to see their team in the NC? The team that has won 4 in the last 8 years, or the team that hasn't won in 35 years?

If they are more motivated, then we are less motivated. Another way to say less motivated is entitled.

I hope that I am proved wrong, and this A-Day has a record setting crowd where the upper decks are filled, but I doubt it. That isn't who our fanbase is anymore. We're not hungry. We are entitled.

That obviously isn't going to happen. It hasn't been 15 years since we won a NC. It's been 1.

He was actually slightly better than Stephany Smith. Her final two seasons we were 1-27 in the SEC.

Ohio State fans can pack out their stadium. Why can't we?

Because they were trying to set a record.

I'm not going to get upset or disappointed because we don't fill up our stadium for a meaningless practice.

We had more fans than USC, Wisconsin, and Michigan in Dallas. More fans than any SEC opponent in the SECCG. Venues around Alabama were packed for the CFP National Championship game. We still have a very passionate fan base that is extremely eager to support our team.

Let's be honest though. If you have already dropped thousands to see your team win a championship, you're going to reach a point where you simply are over spending that kind of money.

Yeah. It's going to be a long time before I drop $1000 to see a football game again (unless we play somewhere like California or Seattle).

Although I will spend close to that amount next year when the Red Wings open their new arena.

Really? Then why can't we pack out A Day? With how many bama fans live within three hours of Tuscaloosa, there shouldn't be a reason why the stadium isn't 90% full, particularly when our coach has expressed how much that meant to him, both personally and from a recruiting standpoint.

It doesn't mean as much to our fan base as it used to unfortunately.

It's a meaningless scrimmage that usually falls on a hot day. No reserved seats. It's on TV. Etc., etc.

It never meant that much to our fan base (except for maybe 2-3 years). And those 2-3 years was because we wee so starved for success and the intrigue of the unknown.

I mean, did we even crack 20k at the 2006 A Day?

I live in Birmingham and I can safely say that I'm a big Bama fan but I've only been to one A-Day under Saban. Have no interest in seeing a scrimmage where our offense usually plays like garbage.

I remember walking into the Georgia Dome two hours before the Clemson game in 2008 and seeing our entire half of the stadium full while Clemson was empty. Nevermind they were Top Ten and the dark horse National Championship team going into the game. I wish that was the case in Tampa but a lot has happened since then. It's human nature for our fans to not be as eager to shell out thousands to experience something they've already experienced several times before. That doesn't mean we still don't have the most passionate fanbase in college football.

I will say that this was the first time I've paid a lot of money to travel to a Championship game where we lost. It left a really bad taste in my mouth.

It was a sad turn out in Tampa. Those bastards out numbered us 5-1 at least.

Despite some of the crazy reports, it was probably 60-40 Clemson in the stadium. Their Orange stood out and a lot of our fans were wearing black so it made it look worse.

The scene outside the stadium and around Tampa was unreal. Might as well had been in Clemson, SC. If you told me the ratio was 8:1 I would believe it. So many Clemson fans, many of them in their 20's, watched the game in the lots and bars around the stadium.

We've basically been outnumbered in the stadium every NC game under Saban. Texas had a slight advantage but I chalk that up to LA having a lot of Texas alums and Austin being a shorter plane ride. The Texas Alumni association rented the entire Santa Monica Pier for their party while the UA Alumni had a small bar. LSU had more but the game was in Louisiana so that shouldn't surprise anyone and ND has one of the largest fanbases in sports. So this is nothing new.

We aren't foaming at the mouth like we were in 2008 but I don't think we are as complacent and spoiled as people say we are. It's not like BDS was half empty all year.

Dude. I was there. It was pretty steep. Granted, my seats were on the edge of where Bama and Clemson changed, but everything to my left was Clemson (their sideline after all) and everything I'm looking at in this picture (across the field) should have been Bama. Lot of orange across the way on the Bama side.

I see mostly red in that picture. Bright orange just stands out more than a dark red.

Sorry I'm not sorry for not wanting to spend 2500 dollars on a ticket.
