Will seniority rule even if David is better?

Yes he has a real shot. As for seniority, remember that he has seniority over Coker at Bama.

Nick Saban will go with the senior.

He has a single shot, Coker is the favorite as of right now.

While I don't doubt you, I've been hearing/reading from different talkin' heads that Cornwell may be the favorite...first back in May and now again just this past week or so...do you know where that's coming from or what it might be based on?

We should just go with Cornwell. This having to find a new qb every year crap is getting old. Just let Cornwell figure it out. No need to start Coker and have this same shite show again next year.

I know it's just Crimson Cover, but they just tweeted this

Strong source (privy to full practices) likes D. Cornwell to eventually take QB reins this year. Just isn't sure how long it will take.

What if Coker gives us a better shot at winning?

No way Saban changes QBs mid-season unless the starter is absolutely tanking it.

If it's a tie between Coker & Cornwell (or even if Coker isn't heads & shoulders better), go with Cornwell. We need some consistency at QB.

Only one person choses the QB and that is Kiffin, my source heard it directly from the horses mouth. Coker is the favorite going into practice, he has improved with the QB coach. Cornwell is doing well and has a single chance. Practices will tell the story.

Lets look at the history of Saban and qbs. He has won with Matt Mauk, McElroy and McCarron. It is obvious that neither will win us a title. We should recruit qbs with last names starting with M . Seriously though don't have to have an all american, just someone who doesn't lose us games. We need an elite secondary to win. We need at least 2 first rounders in the secondary to win.

I think the better question is: "Just how good is Cornwell?"

Quoted because I can only upvote it once.

I think Cornwell is going to have to be very visibly better than Coker on the field while also winning the locker room to get the nod of Coker. Otherwise Saban will go with Coker.

You assume there wouldn't be a battle next year. Even if Cornwell starts, Barnett is going to battle next year for the spot as well.

Nobody's position is safe. That's been Saban's motto since he got here. Suddenly he's going to change it? Nah.

The best guy will play. Seems to me Coker is getting the nod at the moment. Things can change, but just like he gave Blake all camp to win the job, he'll give Cornwell all camp to try and wrestle it from Coker.

Whoever goes out there, we're in good shape.

Coker is going to be given every chance to win the job. He transferred here to win it and he would almost certainly be the starter at FSU this year. I think Coker will have to look bad in live game action in order for Cornwell to get a shot. That may happen, but I expect Coker under center opening drive against Wisky.

PS--I went back and watched the spring game(yeah I know they don't tell you much) but Coker looked head and shoulders better than any QB on the roster that day. Cornwell really struggled with accuracy.

I don't think he does, but I didn't think Blake had one either.
