Dabo is the obvious choice. We arent gonna be as dominant as we are now but he will have us right in the thick of it every year.

Do you mind if I use your sig pic too? I totally understand if you would have a problem with that. I just don't want to join another image hosting site because I only used my last one for aig pics and avatars on here. And it doesn't work on here anymore.

I also am a Jalen fan.

If the job came open in the next 4 years, I don’t think he’d take it. Now if it’s a few years down the road and Clemson hasn’t won another title, I think he’ll come. I know some people who are really close to him and they say he & his family love Clemson and they don’t see him leaving. It will be tough to leave that situation and come to Alabama to follow Saban. This article gives me hope though.

Whenever that day comes, we need to get ready to set the market again salary-wise because he’d be worth it IMO.

First of all, anybody that would even say that or suggest that, I'm humbled by that and certainly appreciate that anybody would even think that way, that they would want me to be a candidate for a job like Alabama. But that's just kind of the fandom. People just naturally make connections and things like that and they never really consider all factors. I've always said 'you never say never,

WOAH.

I have completely given up on him and part of me wants him to become a legend at Clemson(I like him and love coaches who aren't hired guns).

But shite.

It sounds like he has a severe itch to lead his former team.

I used to not want him at Alabama, but have completely changed my mind. It would be great if he replaced Saban, and we'd just keep rolling along.

For people saying that they don't want Dabo, who do you want? When you look around at other coaches, who would be better than Dabo?

Call me crazy, but I still have doubts about wanting Dabo at Bama. A few years ago when people were talking about that possible succession I thought he was in over his head and would be chewed up and spit out at Bama. Did not want AT ALL. Now he has obviously enjoyed great success and has legitimately built a power program. Still I just don't know how his personality and act would play as Alabama HC. He's very different from Saban to me and maybe that would be a good thing rather than someone trying to copy Saban? I don't know.
Dabo, like Saban, had to get it figured out. After getting arse blasted by West Virginia he made the necessary adjustments to get those things corrected. He went out and recruited better on defense, got a better DC and kept grinding away. He is different personality wise from Saban, but is more than capable of having Bama in title contention year in and out.

Me too. He can win, obviously, but I'm not a big fan. I'd rather see who else is available when the time comes before I jump on the "bring your own guts" doofus train. It would be very tough for me going from a coach that I consider brilliant to rah rah dabo daba do.

Downvote your fingers off.

I hear ya, I can see how his personality can turn someone off, but I think that his stuff comes from a genuine place. I think he is a good guy that really loves his players, and his players really love him. I can handle the rah-rah stuff when that's the case.

I'm sure I'd get used to it, if he were winning.

But, honestly, I often wonder if Saban's retirement might not be the perfect time for this aging man to take a step back from following sports so closely. I've been a die hard fan my whole life. Maybe spend those Saturdays doing a little more hunting, fishing, or time with the family. Seems like a good plan, but I'm sure if Bama was in the hunt it would be impossible.

I remember saying the same thing to myself as I walked out of the stadium in Tampa. Just spent all of that money to have a completely miserable experience. Yet here I am....

I'll never forget watching the Kick 6 game on my back patio and noticed my neighbor (who doesn't care anything about sports) gardening outside without a care in the world. In that moment, I was pretty jealous of him.

Honestly kick 6 wasn't that tough of a loss for me. It was comical how we lost and coming off back to back titles probably helped.

Dabo would be a homerun after Saban. Replacing a legend with a top 5 coach in the game with a MNC already under his belt. What more can you ask for.

I laughed at the Clemson fan on Finebaum in the summer who said Dabo would be the greatest coach of all time. Yep that would make us have 3 of the greatest coaches of all time, lol.

All the new coach needs to do is keep the recruiting train rolling.

Looks like that may not be true. We are not recruiting at an elite level.
