That is not the point though. If you put AJ or JFF on this list it wouldn't be the same. The list was because we don't know what we have with any of the guys on it. You know what you have with an AJ or JFF. And college or NFL, it doesn't matter, when ALL you have to go by is measurables, arm, and athletic ability, that is it, and there would be no reason to take the other guys unless you knew what you had with them, but we don't.

Having AJ as a starter for 3 years I guess....that shouldn't really be an excuse but why else?

You can sell that stuff going into that level because there's proof. That's not the situation here, there's little on Coker and what Bama has right now other than what we choose to believe...

He is just another option than Sims, Morris, Mcleod, Del Rio, and Bateman. All of the guys on roster now have problems - Sims isn't a QB, Morris seems to be struggling with the pocket mobility Nuss likes, Mcleod just sucks, Del Rio is short, and Bateman talks like a girl.

I'd mostly say Morris just doesn't have it right between the ears. Watching A-Day and how Saban treated him, I don't think Saban likes him at all. Then he played all of 1 or 2 snaps this year, that sort of helps that theory.

Del Rio is a savvy game manager type that had the benefit of growing up around football at its highest levels, not to mention a year of one on one mentoring by one of the greatests QB's in the game today.

You're blinding picking off measurables, my point is valid. You take them out of context and of course the person romanced enough in description wins. We're not talking Manziel or McCarron with careers intact, we're talking about faceless husks that represent them. You would not pick either QB based off the method you are deciding to use.

Just because we have little to go on, doesn't mean you go about it just based on thin outlines...

what we've seen from Morris and Sims isn't "little" to go on. And Del Rio/Bateman are less experienced than Coker. Don't get me started on the ginger whose coach wouldn't let him throw it.

It's too bad that Duron Carter is no longer on the roster. An unknown, but great qb throwing to our "best receiver"? We would have had the ultimate unicorn.

We played Sims over Morris in garbage time this year with no reason NOT to play Morris. That should tell you where he fits with this staff. He was McElwain's, Nuss stresses pocket mobility.

Does Sims play serious snaps next year for future recruiting purposes???

What future recruiting purposes? Are we looking at a few running backs that want to give QB a shot?

I was just thinking outside the box a little...Craig and Winston came to mind...you never know. I was just wondering.

I'm not following. If you're talking about a dual threat, then Coker would still be a better option than Sims.

The whole "Bama won't play a black qb" negative recruiting angle.

When we get a black QB that deserves first team reps, then let him get some. Sims is not that guy. So no, don't play Sims because he's black. We gave Phillips Sims a fair chance, it just turned out AJ was better.

ugghh...Craig feeding Winston the line of crap about black QBs not starting at Alabama...

I really don't even really like typing that bullcrap lie, buti wonder after the Winston-gate if Sims got the snaps this year over other QBs (that fit our system better)due to those lies being spread everywhere in recruiting world!?!?!?
