He certainly wouldn't have coughed up the ball on KO returns.

dont know why morris isnt getting a look. if he is truly better at ball security, that is what we need.

If Kelly and others on the offensive line keep getting their asses whipped, we're gonna need a lot more than ball security from a QB.

That's the thing I took away from the OM game. He's far from perfect, but he fricking WANTED that win bad. He has heart. He was not willing to lose that game. He grew up a Bama fan and he played his heart out for Bama. It's a shame some people get off on calling him some names that I won't repeat (and don't really get punished for it that I know of). He almost made two comebacks. Yes, they failed, but he willed the team back twice.

And Sims had 3 INT's vs Auburn. G-Mac was so awful in his first 6 or 7 games that Ingram had to run the Wildcat. A.J. was not a very good QB until the Auburn game and the BCSNCG.

He had 2 starts, in which he played 5 quarters and had 450 yards passing. Then he took us to 33 points in a little over 2 quarters.

That is a better first 3 games than G-Mac or A.J. and he did it in 7 quarters.

Give the guy a break, sure he is learning, he has never been THE MAN. But with that said, I think he is doing a good job of leading the team. The first down call should have been a running play, their defense was gassed. Kiff again outsmarted himself.

Edited the bad spelling, was in a hurry earlier.

Should have just focused on tackling the receiver on that prayer that Kelly heaved up on third down

OR maybe... wait for this......

Its a crazy idea......

Maybe we can teach our DB's to play the ball and not the man?

While the ball is in mid air Minkah goes to hit the WR instead of making a play on the ball

Why we continue to coach like this only Saint Nick knows.... but he needs to adapt.

If Coker can stop throwing to the other team 2-3 times a game he will be fine. He actually is a good runner and needs to take advantage of that more, if nobody is open take off big guy.

No Coker and we lose by 20+ without any optimism moving forward .

When I got home and eventually watched the telecast I was surprised that the announcers were surprised at Coker being a good runner. When he came here we knew two things:

1. He had possibly the biggest arm in CFB

2. He was a better athlete than Jameis Winston and could run

He's not a runner, he's a gunslinger who can take off. I think if Saban and Kiffin want to utilize the QB as a runner they can do it with Jake Coker. And if nothing is there and he can run, I think he should run more. He isn't elusive like Blake Sims was, but he can get yardage and with his size he can pick up some extra yardage through contact if he holds onto the ball.

this is something that irked me. when bateman was in we did some read option plays, and we never once kept it. ole miss didnt even bother putting anyone on the qb. we have qbs that can run, even coker, gotta put that as something the other team should worry about

This was and IMO still is true. Coker beat Jameis in just about every athletic testing measure at FSU. I was present for the testing.

Jameis was never a dual threat though. Some straight line speed, but average agility and acceleration. Coker also has average agility but was indeed faster, and I think he still is.

One more thing on this subject. Bateman can run the hurry up better they say. Hell, we don't need he hurry up, our defenders need to be spelled, I don't mind mixing it in at times, but we need to give our defenders a spell and NS is just playing into their hands. Also, why do we never bring the C.B. Blitz like Arenas used to do 2-4 times a game ?

Oh well, if we beat Georgia I think we are home free until LSU, seeing we have Tenn. at home.

Minkah has a couple sacks. Don't remember if they were from Star or Corner

We ran a fire blitz once I know. Can you guess the outcome? QB fired it straight to the (now uncovered) receiver. Safety took a bad angle. Huge gainer down the sideline.

We've done more with less so I don't know what the hell people are bitching about.

I think he's doing just fine overall. There was a ton asked of him this past weekend and I don't think some of you understand that.

Additionally, the coaching staff has dropped the ball by not declaring a starter sooner. They haven't given him the time he really should be getting as the #1 because it's the constant 2 guys thing.

He's going to improve over time.

That was an awful play by Gebo Smith.
