Saban allows it. Holcombe plays baseball too.

I thought I read years ago on here that the reason Winston didn't sign with us was because he wasn't allowed to play baseball. Or am I remembering this wrong?

I think it was more of Winston being able to player sooner at FSU than anything.

Bama chased Gunner Kiel twice before they turned to Winston.

By then, Dameyune Craig had a strong bond with Jameis and his parents.

Harold Joiner says LSU "probably" leads, but that he's really only considering Alabama and LSU.

Tim Watts said someone he knows close to the Mountain Brook program feels Joiner ends up at Alabama FWIW.

According to the ESPN FPI: Alabama is expected to be 11.4 points better than any other SEC team on a neutral field. Largest gap since 2008.

The SEC just sucks this year. I would like to see that stat minus UGA because they are a step ahead everyone else.

Anyone know if Slade Bolden will be allowed to play baseball here also?

Not this year. Wants him to adjust to college life before trying to do too much. After what would be his senior baseball season, if he wants to play, he will be allowed.

Winston was going to have to concentrate on football the first year or so, before being cut loose to the baseball program. FSU gave early playing time on both fronts.

Not 2018 recruiting, but this paragraph below got me to thinking about how well we've recruited. And while it's still too early to say for sure on a lot of guys (like Ben Davis in the '16 class and some linemen that need time to develop), we sure don't seem to have many "misses" in our last couple classes. Excellent talent evaluations, even on the few 3* guys we've signed.

"Running back Brian Robinson and tight ends Kedrick James and Major Tennison became the 13th, 14th and 15th true freshman to see action for the Crimson Tide this season with their appearances today. Other first-year players who have debuted for UA this season are: Christopher Allen (LB), Thomas Fletcher (SN), Najee Harris (RB), Jerry Jeudy (WR), Alex Leatherwood (OL), Xavier McKinney (DB), Dylan Moses (LB), Henry Ruggs III (WR), DeVonta Smith (WR), Tua Tagovailoa (QB), Jedrick Wills Jr. (OL) and Daniel Wright (DB)."

I was surprised Tennison got in. Even more with James. I know with Forristal out for the year, we needed more depth at TE. But I was hoping one of the true freshmen would redshirt.

The 2017 class could go down as one of the best in school history.

All of the ones that have played so far look great.

Then you got guys like Ray, Mathis, Cowan, Shavers, McDonald that haven't even played yet.

Looks like the kicker and Baker might be the only two who don't pan out.

KN says Quay Walker will in AU for OM game next week. I know FSU has some confidence here. How confident are Bama guys in Walker sticking? He strikes me as a kid that whomever gets the last visit lands him
