Marvin Wilson, five-star defensive tackle, Houston

Wilson was offered by the Tide in June, and he took a visit to Alabama this past season for the Tennessee game in October. Alabama has already made the five-star a priority and you can expect defensive line coach Bo Davis to stay on Wilson throughout his recruitment.

Devonta Smith, four-star wide receiver, Amite, La.

When National Signing Day 2017 rolls around, don’t be surprised if Smith is a five-star. In a recent showcase in New Orleans, Smith balled out and showed why he should be considered one of the best receivers in the country. Smith recently de-committed from Georgia after director of player personnel Sam Petitto left for Alabama and Mark Richt was fired. The good news for Alabama is Petitto, who Smith is extremely close with is now on Alabama’s staff and his very good friend, Shyheim Carter, is a signee in the 2016 class.

Nate McBride, four-star linebacker, Vidalia, Ga.

It’s very early in his recruitment, but it’s a tight two-team race right now for one of the nation’s top linebackers. Georgia and Alabama are battling it out to land his commitment. McBride has already said that Alabama will “be in it to the end.” Look for the Alabama staff to put the full-court press on McBride.

Yes. His dad is fricking Alvin Mack from The Program.
I always wanted them to make a sequel to that movie. Bring back the coach as the AD, the qb as the HC, Mack as the DC, Epps as the OC, Lattimer as the LBC. That would be fricking awesome.

I think we will get a 5-star WR (Jeudy) and a 5-star OT (Davis) at the very least.

A few people think we wind up signing Isaiah Wilson, even though 247 lists Michigan as a leader.

I'd trade a 5*OT (which we seem to have no trouble signing now) for a 5* DT straight up right now. We need to absolutely knock it out of the park with DL recruiting in 2017.

Top recruit Dylan Moses has list, hopes to hear from Michigan

quote:

"Alabama, Texas, Georgia, Florida, UCLA and USC are still my top schools,” Moses said. “Alabama is still my leader because they are more structured. They have very good discipline over there so they get their kids doing what they have to do. I like their strength program, coach [Scott] Cochran, coach [Nick] Saban. It’s just a really great coaching staff over there and I just really feel comfortable there.”

quote:

“I’ll probably go to Florida, Florida State and probably come back home and go to LSU’s spring practice and see how they are doing,” Moses said. The Baton Rouge, Louisiana, native recently transferred to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.

Moses said one of the reasons he moved was so that he would be able to enroll early at whichever college he attends.

“It also takes some pressure off of me,” Moses said. “When I was in Baton Rouge, everyone was expecting me to go to LSU. Now that I’m out of the state of Louisiana, people are like more skeptical about where I am going to go now.”

TIFWIW, but some "insider" over on the Georgia 247 site is saying Demetris Robertson is down to Stanford and Notre Dame.

If he makes the test scores to get into Stanford we will know by Thursday.

1 QB - Fromm
3 RB - Harris, Akers, Robinson(Longshot, but all still committed)
4 WR - Jeudy, Collins, Thomas, Smith
1 TE - Guy that blocks
4 OL - Leatherwood, Davis, Randolph/Troxell, Interior Lineman
5 DL - Sterling, Bennett, Tart-Spencer, ???, ???
3 LB - Moses, Jordan-Swilling, Instate LB
4 DB - McKinney, Townsend, Okudah, Swilling

There's 25 that I'm 100% sure will look different in 2017

Really couldn't say for certain on any pass rush specialist/OLB right now...

Good for him. If my nephew gets the scores he is Stanford bound as well.

It appears Scout was the site that boosted Fromm's ranking this week. Some dude on BOL posted this:

quote:

For those wondering how he's ranked 105 in the 247 Composite:
Rivals - 49 - last updated 12/14/15
Scout - 91 - updated 2/6/16
ESPN - 148
247 - 198

Don't know if this has been posted, but was pretty interesting to me.

Y'all remember Jared Mayden the four-star DB that signed with Alabama on NSD? His brother, Jalen, is one of the top '18 QBs in the country.

Hank South has mentioned we'd like to sign two QBs in the Class of 2018, so I assume we would take Mayden and one of Jack West and Allan Walters.

Walters is an Alabama legacy. His dad played baseball at UA.

He's a damn good prospect. Yall think Bama can hold onto him though? His high school coach is Charlie Ward.

Saban mentioned wanting a pass rusher in this class and not getting it. So I expect that to be a focus next year

I think anything could happen a year away from NSD, but Bama has fared well enough around the Pensacola area.

Still no GB Dolphins though
