Corey Raymond might be fired

Why would he get fired? He is probably the best coach they have on staff, aside from Aranda.

The why I can't tell you but:

"Two sources in the last hour told me there's rumblings about LSU parting ways with Corey Raymond, who is Dylan Moses' uncle. That would be massive in holding onto his pledge. It's a true coin flip otherwise..."

This from someone who does this for a living.........

They would melt so hard if he left.

I wonder where Raymond would end up?

Also, Stevens is an EE, right? So he won't know for sure until he has already signed the papers, correct?

Even though I trust this dude, think we all know how fluid this stuff is. Hell, he might have already been given a raise and a new 4 year contract. Hard to keep up with everything. But it is what it is at this moment.

Rusty from UGA247 says he expects Gibbs to visit them on Sunday before dead period.

BamaK has posted the same about Raymond today. I can tell you that a former player who is VERY close to the booster circle has maintained throughout the process and even recently that Stevens is still very much a possibility, and that nothing for certain would happen there until around signing day (or whenever he enrolls... if it's early or not).

Also will be interesting to see where other dominoes fall nationally. Okudah is trending more to Oklahoma now (where Ohio State thought they had him), and it will be interesting to see what happens with Fickell and Tim Beck gone from the OSU staff.

For whatever happens in Gibbs' visit to thUGa, I've seen people mention that his mother will have to sign off on it wherever he winds up. His dad has definitely signed off on Bama, and I get the impression that she has as well. According to Rodney Orr, he wants to go to Bama. We'll see how it turns out.

The last 2 DB slots are tough to project. Situations extremely fluid.

Wait, so Moses's uncle is on LSU's staff? Not sure how he even committed to Bama, then, even with the Miles firing.

Shea on Moses:

I will just say this. He's having a real tough time with things as this comes down to the wire.

I think it's huge he came in with Delpit. Those two got close at IMG. Both quiet kids who have a lot in common. And, quietly, Delpit has been working him.

Can New Year's Eve get here fast enough?

I'm ready to watch our boys kick some arse.

If you float a rumor about Raymond and the recruit believes it then maybe you have a shot at a flip.

I hope we can keep Moses and seen nothing except over excited tiger fans stretch for it by becoming Twitter deciphering experts but in the end it does not hurt us with the haul we brought in last year. He is definitely in my opinion a big time recruit but not a miss that hurts the class

Not directing this at you in particular, but this type statement is so ridiculous. They've either "parted ways", or they haven't. It's not fluid.

And the posing of possibility that he was given a raise and a 4 year deal means no one knows ANYTHING for sure.

They have the ability to change their mind you know, especially when Bama caught wind of this and is told Moses and Stevens this information. LSU, now that the cat is out of the bag, and they feel it may cost them Stevens and a chance to flip Moses, could change their mind and retain him.

The plan was to get through early enrollee's coming on campus, then making an announcement. Wasn't told if Coach was fired or possibly taking another job, but either way, it was all about lying to the kids. Like I said, now LSU has to decide what's best for them, let him go and miss out or retain and hopefully get two 5 star recruits.

And the 4 year thing was simply a "hypothetical" showing that things change. Like Miles staying on last year..........

Not if they fired the guy. He's an excellent recruiter and on field coach. If that guy was fired it wouldn't be for something you can "change your mind" about.

And where would he go that LSU wouldn't match (other than a DC role somewhere)?

It's likely just a dumb rumor like so many others that begin with someone wishful thinking and then other people running with it. This one simply makes no sense. If it doesn't pass the logic test then it's usually not true.
