Aubrey Solomon comes from a military background, and that’s a big reason why Alabama leads in his recruitment.

The four-star defensive tackle from Lee County High School (Leesburg, Ga.), told SEC Country’s Zach Abolverdi why he decided to name the Crimson Tide his top team after visiting Tuscaloosa three weeks ago.

“Discipline — a lot of discipline,” Solomon said. “You never really hear about an Alabama player getting in trouble. Never. Georgia has some problems here and there. Florida State here and there, but with Bama, it’s all about business.”

The way Nick Saban runs his program made a significant impression on Solomon’s mother, Sabrina Caldwell, who is in the military.

“She loves Bama. She loves the tight ship that Saban runs,” Solomon said.

Usually, when Solomon makes recruiting trips with his mother, Caldwell asks the coaches many questions. When the pair visited Alabama three weeks ago, she was silent, but that is a good thing.

“Saban covered everything. She didn’t ask any questions,” Solomon said. “He covered everything in one speech. He wowed us. He’s the man.”

While Alabama is “for sure” Solomon’s No. 1 school right now, some schools are lurking in the background. Oregon is his No. 2 school, a program that he became enamored with when he lived in California as a child. Clemson is No. 3 despite only making one visit there, and that came his freshman year. Solomon said the Tigers impressed him so much on that visit that they remain a contender because of it. Rounding out his top five are Auburn and Florida.

When asked why he would select one school over the other, the nation’s No. 5 defensive tackle gave an explanation that should have Alabama feeling happy about where it stands with the elite prospect.

“How happy my mom is with my decision,” Solomon said that was the main reason why he would choose a school. “They have to make an impact on my mom and my whole family. If they do that, they got me.”

The 6-4, 296-pounder is rated as the state of Georgia’s No. 11 prospect.

Alabama target Darnell Ewell certainly passes the “eye test.”

Standing at 6-foot-3, 298 pounds, Ewell has a defined physique that stands out amongst a group of large high school football prospects. The Crimson Tide would like Ewell to play on their defensive line, but he can also play on the offensive side of the ball, too. At Nike’s “The Opening” regional in Charlotte, Ewell participated in 1-on-1 drills on both sides of the ball.

The four-star from Lake Taylor High School (Norfolk, Va.) has a top five of Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Michigan.

Ewell told SEC Country’s Corey Masisak that he would like to visit Tuscaloosa this summer but what gets overlooked a lot of the times may derail those plans a bit.

“It’s a lot of traveling,” Ewell said. “We’re a middle-class family. It’s a lot when you think about it — gas, food — state-to-state. It’s a lot.”

But if he does end up making it to Alabama, Ewell has specific things he’s looking for on that trip.

“The first thing I am looking to see is the education and the academic plan,” Ewell said. “There are a lot of people that mess up with that. I want to make sure I am OK with that. Definitely where I slide in with a position and just where I fit in.”

At defensive tackle, Alabama’s biggest targets, along with Ewell, are Marvin Wilson (Bellaire, Texas) and Tyler Shelvin (Lafayette, La.), who are both five-star defensive tackles, the same position Ewell plays on that side of the football. Aubrey Solomon (Leesburg, Ga.), who is a four-star DT, has Alabama as his leader.

According to Ewell’s 247Sports Crystal Ball, 83 percent of recruiting analysts that have offered a prediction believe Ohio State will be the school he chooses when he makes his commitment.

Ewell is rated as the nation’s No. 10 defensive tackle and is the No. 5 prospect in Virginia.

Hamseh plays safety in High school: "Ranked by 247Sports Composite as the No. 153 player in the country, Nasirildeen is ranked even higher on 247Sports as the No. 87 player nationally. He's currently ranked as a linebacker but Nasirildeen plays safety and wide receiver in high school and despite his massive frame, he has the athleticism and explosiveness to remain at safety on the college level as well."

Solomon is from my home town. He plays in one of if not the hardest regions of Georgia High School football. other than sometimes playing a little high he looks legit.

That was a no brainier IMO once he couldn't get in to Stanford

He can stay at home and be a Starr for that O and start right away

At Bama, he would be RSed and at least 1 more year after that more than likely on STs and scarce PT

Wish him the best as a Dawg (unless of course they are playing Bama)

.......and I agree with ths Kirby shite getting old

Probably be best if he goes to Georgia and stars this season. I heard Georgia might be a threat for Nico Collins, might discourage him from going to Georgia If they can't offer him a starting spot right away.
