Dodge City (Kan.) Community College running back Mark Thompson is committed to the Florida Gators, but he still plans to use a few of his official visits this fall. The 6-foot-2, 225-pound Thompson reported on Twitter he would take a visit to Louisville on November 14 when the Cardinals host Virginia. He then plans to head to Gainesville for an official visit during the Gators matchup against in-state rival Florida State on November 28. Thompson also has a tentative official visit planned for Alabama on December 12.

Thompson is slated to be a mid-year enrollee, and would therefore sign with the school of his choice on December 16.

The 247Sports Composite, an industry generated average, is considered the nation's No. 4 overall junior college prospect.

Please sweet baby Jesus let us flip this young man.

Tyreke Johnson is a 6-foot-2, 180 pound athlete with length, fluidity, ball skills, and instincts.

He is one of the most advanced prospects for his age I have covered. He just understands different coverages, different concepts, and he is a natural leader back in the defensive secondary. That is where I see him playing on the next level.

Will he be a big boundary corner playing on the island like he likes? Or will he grow out of that and become a ball-hawk safety? I am not ruling out outside linebacker, but for now, I see him in the defensive backfield.

I just read those defensive "tidbits" and they made me want to punch through my fricking tiny deployment television.

What a fricking idiot.

It sounds like Tyler Hayes is trying to help others avoid his downfall. LINK

quote:

None of that's guaranteed for Morris, a South Carolina commit, and he knows there's plenty of possible pitfalls between Grove Hill and the NFL.

As a reminder, Morris said he spoke with former Thomasville star Tyler Hayes – Morris' cousin who was dismissed from Alabama in 2013 after being arrested on robbery charges – earlier this summer and received sobering advice.

"He said he got with the wrong crowd," Morris said. "Just went downhill."

I also read this article from back in 2012. What could have been...

quote:

Pretty soon, Craig has promised, the Daniels will likely buy Hayes a car. For now, though, they believe it's better for him to walk around campus and concentrate on getting acclimated to college life.

"We want him to get an education," Craig said. "There's been a lot of great athletes in Thomasville through the years, and you see them back here and they've had wasted lives. I don't want to see that happen to him. We're going to love him. We're going to support him."

First off, Minkah Fitzpatrick doesn't have a Spring under his belt like he said. He enrolled June 19th. His comparison of Fitzpatrick to Tony Brown is laughable.

Secondly, Daron Payne showed up last month overweight. He doesn't have abs, nor is he above Josh Frazier. The thought that he would leave after 3 years is ludicrous. He's more than likely headed for a Redshirt.

He said Rashaan Evans was having trouble putting on weight and Christian Miller. BOL reported the exact opposite in the last War Room.

He said Hootie Jones is showing out, yet others (who actually know shite) have said he may be at the bottom of the depth chart.

shite. It's not premium content. I'll let y'all read this sunshine pumping, inaccurate shite yourselves.

I’ll start with Defense but will write about the O when I have more time! Summer work outs are going great. The team is hungry and everyone putting in a lot of effort. Players that are really standing out are Ronnie Harrison , who is mature beyond his years and has impressed all of his teammates. He will have a great year! Was told he has the “swag” factor!
Daron Payne is a beast! He is super strong, has an unbelievable work ethic and has abs!!! lol He is a 3 and out for sure! Problem is the D is so deep he will have to wait his turn. I was told he will get more playing time than Josh Frazier and is considered above him already.
Minkah Fitzpatrick is the real deal! He is 3 and out for sure and is considered best DB is 7 on 7s. I was told some like him better than Tony Brown already. He will see the field a lot. Of course I asked how he can be so good already when that playbook is a bitch to learn. They said he spent a lot of time studying and is very smart. Has a spring under his belt and is just fun to watch. Player’s love him. Not a knock on Tony at all. He’s special, but they compared him to Tony because both similar. Humphrey is doing great too, but they didn’t mention playing time to me and I didn’t ask.
Cyrus Jones looks good too. All the DB’s have improved and getting after it. Geno Smith looks good and so does Hootie.
Keith Holcombe, linebacker from Tuscaloosa, is impressive also. Very quick, understands the defense and going to see the field a lot.
Ragland…thank God he’s back!!
SDH will do great. They were very high on him. I asked in comparison to Foster what did they think, but really didn’t compare. Just said both were working hard but they were more impressed with SDH.
Rashaan Evans has not gained the needed weight he needs. I was told coming off the edge is great, but when you have to stay in your lane and push back the pocket, on consistent bases, he is going to have trouble with the big lines we face in the SEC.
So I immediately asked about Christian Miller. He’s the real deal! Very athletic. Works really hard. Has gained weight and doesn’t have problems doing so. Going to be a great one, and reminds this person of Jason Taylor. Didn’t say how much, if any, playing time Miller would get but said he will play on Sundays one day!
D-line is sick! Very deep and talented. Watch out for Tim Williams, whom has his head on straight and is looking great this summer. DeShawn Hand is doing great also, but may have to just wait his turn a little longer. Dalvin is a beast! Ashawn and Allen only getting better. Pettway has lost weight to make him faster and gained muscle. Beast as well.
They don’t expect a lot of points scored on them this year. There’s a feeling about this defense that hasn’t been felt in a while. It’s an attitude that’s hard to put into words. But I will try. It’s a very competitive defense. Players fighting their asses off at every position! It’s about “staying on point” and showing up to compete! When someone is not paying attention and texting or whatever, the other players get pissed and frustrated! They don’t want the BS on this team! You come to work or you sit on the bench! I’ll write more about this topic later but this is long enough for now.
Please don’t try to name whom I’m talking with or read too much into anything that was said about a player. It’s only someone’s opinion close to the team. Not the gospel! I posted last year that this person told me Blake would start and is having great summer workouts. He was correct when everyone thought he was crazy! LOL He said some things about this years QB that surprised me. I’ll save it for offense post.
Enjoy! RTR

-BOL has posted multiple times that Ronnie Harrison is one to watch and is performing extremely well.
-Daron Payne showed up overweight. He doesn't have "abs" after a month.
-My favorite part is the highlighted "paragraph" where he basically said he's full of shite but not to hold it against him because it's not his "info."

What a fricking attention seeking faux insider douchebag.

Jack West article:

quote:

The 6-foot-3 1/2, 210-pound prodigy, who played only in mop-up duty during the Spartans' run to the 2014 Class 6A title game, already has a slew of college offers.

They include Auburn, Alabama, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, UCLA and Kentucky.

"It's an honor and a blessing to be in this situation," a calm and collected West told the media on Monday afternoon at Ladd-Peebles Stadium about his onslaught of offers. "I know I've got a lot of time between now and a decision being made. Right now, I'm focused on being a Saraland Spartan because right now that is all that matters."

The "insiders" response when someone pointed out that Fitzpatrick wasn't an EE:

quote:

You are correct. I asked about him learning the playbook and was told he's very smart and has had all spring to learn the play book. I took that as being there but come to think of it, he wasn't. I am honestly not sure if players are allowed to have a playbook before they get there. Does anyone know? Or he just meant Fitzpatrick was there a lot this spring and was able to learn a lot during his visits? I may have confused two different players? Was a lot of info and I wasn't taking notes. But I am sure how excited he said everyone was about his play this summer. Been very impressive! More excitement came from my source on Fitzpatrick and Harrison than any other players we talked about.

PJ Hall tidbit for those interested:

quote:

It's looking more and more like Hoover cornerback P.J. Hall will play his college football out of state.

Hall, a 5-foot-11, 175-pound senior, said earlier this week at Jefferson-Shelby media day that he's trimmed his list of schools to Louisville, Mississippi State and Minnesota.

I wonder if Miss St. will sign more players from Alabama than we will again this year. LINK

TJ Simmons on why he committed to Alabama instead of Auburn back in February (he grew up an Auburn fan)

quote:

Don't underestimate the importance of the college football gameday experience. It can provide a recruiting edge, too. That's the takeaway from Clay-Chalkville receiver and Alabama commitment T.J. Simmons' comments Tuesday during Jefferson-Shelby football media day. Simmons said he grew up an Auburn fan, but his allegiance began to change when he started attending games in Tuscaloosa a few years ago.

"I started going to games and seeing the atmosphere and the fans and things like that," Simmons said.

That's a big reason he committed to Alabama – and not Auburn – in February.

He also says that other schools have stopped recruiting him LINK

Another post from that thread by tInsider:

quote:

Thanks Bere223! You're good friend that provides value not only to the board, but to the entire university with what you have been able to do. Txt me tomorrow and I'll feel you in on a coach that left and a player that has vanished privately.

I love how "insiders" flaunt their status in front of us less privy plebeians.

He already knows the other guy's phone number. Why does he need to let the board know about what he is texting? Is the PM function on BOL suddenly malfunctioning?
