BOL put up an "incoming commitment?" post:

quote:

Mykel Jones, a 2016 four-star receiver from Patterson (La.) High School, tweeted on Wednesday night that he has announcement on Thursday. Recently Jones named Alabama his "no doubt" leader between the Tide, USC and Tennessee after a visit to Tuscaloosa on Monday.

Jones, a 6-foot, 180-pound prospect, is rated the No. 32 receiver and the No. 181 overall player in the country per the 247Sports Composite rankings.

This is a really interesting post from an LSU247 thread.

quote:

I understand the people you're referring to and like I said, there are definately bad ones. But just like the examples you gave....those guys that helped Cam Robinson are my friends. More like brothers. I love them. As a matter of fact, one of them came to camp with me.

On the way down, he was reading this board. (Yes...they do that) Someone on here made the comment that they're probably in jail for drugs now. I was driving when he read that. Really??? Why??? I can tell you, beyond a shadow of doubt, they did nothing wrong. NOTHING! They were instrumental in Cam's recruitment because his dad's not here and his mom hates traveling and large crowds. They literally would've been perfectly happy with Cam at LSU. They honestly couldn't care less. They wanted him to make his decision and they wanted him happy. Since he committed, every LSU message board has accused them of everything under the sun, called them names, attacked their character, etc.... It's really embarrassing to me. Now, they're adults. They understand. But, it doesn't change the fact that they're being wrongly accused and being blasted....frequently. You wouldn't believe some of the things they read about themselves. Hell, I cant!

The good news is....LSU now has a relationship with them, and a good one. It's not a relationship where there is a hand out waiting on gifts. They're good to the kids in this community. Very good. They step in when a young man needs help and can't get to places. They don't want favors. They want to see kids who have less, get the opportunity to fulfill their dreams. I appreciate them for that. They don't have to. That's why I say....don't assume things. There are good people out there.

Both of the CBs have come from Rutgers writers.

Devin White discusses some SEC schools:

quote:

“Alabama, they were one of the first schools to offer me my freshmen year. They recently had another running back kicked off the team and they have some guys who may leave after this year so the depth chart is good their as well.”

With his senior season set to slow the recruiting process for awhile, White is still firm on his decision to wait for National Signing Day to make a choice.

“On National Signing Day, I want the ESPN cameras in Springhill at North Webster.”

It seems like we have a lot of boom or bust potential on NSD this year. For those who were complaining that last NSD was boring, 2016 will be quite the opposite.

Usually I roll my eyes when I see the Rutgers insiders guessing where our prospects might go, but this recruit is more of a local. Makes me wonder if they know anything.

I'd take a RB class of Emmons and White.

Seems kind of odd that we would even take his commitment with all the D-Line talent left on the board ahead of him.

Good job posting last night everyone. I like going to bed and waking up to 3-4 pages of posts. Gives me something to read and respond to over here in the 120 degree heat.

Then there was the article that stated that Jauan Williams would likely end up at Alabama if we still want him.

Not to mention there seems to be twenty receivers that want in.

There is a time in recruiting where I feel like we may end up taking 50 recruits. This is that time for me.

Isn't even in the Scout 300.

Appears we are getting one in the next 12 hours or so in Jones. I like him. He'll be a good pickup.

There is certainly a ton of talent left out there, and we are in good shape for about 12-15 of them. Decisions, decisions.

So we have CBs in for both Jack West and Allan Walters. One is from the state and is a huge Alabama fan. The other is an Alabama legacy and is from the same school as Rashan Gary. What are we going to do?

Not sure if you read the Chicken thread on this board, but he frowns upon us copying and pasting more than three paragraphs per post. That was a big reason for tPurge a few weeks ago.

Just FYI. I'd hate to see you do all of this work for nothing.

Bone tweeted something like that. Did he give a reason for believing that Jones will actually commit, or did he just site Jones' twitter post?

I remember when Shea Patterson had an important announcement with another Louisiana recruit (White or Allen, I can remember), and it turned out to be them announcing which all american game they'd be attending.
