Poor kid. He had a ton of potential as a Freshman but his father passing away and colossal coaching turnover derailed his career.

Based on his 9th grade film I thought he could have been great. Hopefully Jack West has better luck.

It's not his fault man. Read my post above. His dad died when he was a 10th grader. Something like that is really hard to overcome, especially when you suddenly become the man of the house at 16.

I didn't know lol, I thought he just wanted to play QB instead of playing defense. See my post above yours.

2017 Tanner QB Chadarius Townsend was offered today. Expected to commit as early as next week. He's projected as a safety in college. He showed out in camp yesterday. I've been hearing people rave about him in the Athens area for a year or so now. 6' 180 lbs. Very fast. Finished very high in the state in track. Video below.

Deontay Anderson got another CB to Ole Miss. Mykel Jones got one to them as well from the same writer.

From a poster on BOL:

quote:

I am very leery about this information, but he was adamant it is accurate. Apparently Jimbo's wife has been caught cheating on him with a couple of guys (one is a pro-athlete and the other is her personal trainer.)

My buddy told me that he believes this could be it for Jimbo. I asked him if he meant he thinks he would be fired and he believes so. He said the reason is because of the negative attention it would again bring to the program and the boosters would be ready to let him go. I find it hard to believe they would fire him unless they make it look like he "stepped down."

Anyways, he said his "source" told him that the story could break any day now. I searched the internet and found some Twitter and forum rumors floating around about it. Nothing official yet.

As always, TIFWIW.

The Elite 11 announced the 30 semifinalists that will be competing for a spot in July's Elite 11 finals this weekend in Los Angeles.

Eight finalists have already been named (updated roster) and those quarterbacks will be competing alongside the other 22 semifinalists at the event.

Texas leads the way as far as states producing semifinalists with seven. Florida is next with four and perhaps surprisingly only two currently playing high school ball in the traditionally QB-strong state of California made the list.

Twenty-six of the 30 semifinalists are currently committed, with six each to the ACC, Big Ten and Big 12, five to the SEC and three to the Pac-12.

1 if this was true Jimbo would be devastated
2 why would Florida State punish Jimbo because his wife is a slut(if this is true)
3 I assume the humor is that this is an extremely outlandish claim that's not even believable.

Despite being just under three months removed from making his verbal commitment to in-state LSU, four-star Lafayette (La.) Northside defensive tackle Tyler Shelvin spent some time in Tuscaloosa this week working for an offer from Nick Saban and Alabama.

After showcasing his talent, the rising-junior learned of the news he was looking for on Tuesday evening.

"It was great, we went in his (Saban's) office, he talked to us about the programs at the school and how they give a lot of help in what we need," he said. "Then he offered me a scholarship to Alabama.

"It was great news, I have two more years and I'm thinking about my options."

Shelvin was able to work extensively with Crimson Tide defensive line coach Bo Davis while in town, picking up plenty in the process.

"They like my skills and my hard work," he said. "The show I put on for them got the offer. I gave 100 percent in everything we did in the camp and they liked it.

"The coaching impressed, and they helped on how to use our hands and more."

Attending camp last year without an offer to his name, Shelvin says he's improved "a lot" since the last time he was in Tuscaloosa. It was at that time when he began communicating with Davis.

"He's great," he said. "Ever since I got here he showed me everything I needed to know. He was the one who said Saban wanted to talk to me after the workout."

Still committed to Les Miles' Tigers, one of Louisiana's top underclassmen maintains that he'll still go through the recruiting process.

"I'm just waiting on my senior year for my options," Shelvin said. "I had a great time here."
