Most of the good players from TN this cycle were legacies.

Seeing as I couldn't really do much film watching the last few weeks I decided to look at some of our signees' Senior tape. The first one I found was Bo Scarborough's:

The only one I know of is Hoza Scott, the Texas A&M commit. He went from a 5-star in the initial rankings to a 3-star because his grades are so terrible.

Before I forget, I watched the ESPNU NSD Wrap Up show last night and they previewed a handful of 2015 guys.

The showed Ricky Town , but they also showed DeSherrius Flowers.

U$Cw is still waiting on Adoree Jackson's LOI I believe this morning

Dad favored UT and Mom favored LSU, He has been up in South Central going to prep school so USCw was showing him a lot of "love" and both his parents were vehemently against the Trojans because they thought there was some foul play with him & U$Cw.

Some poor kid committed to FAMU for 2 years had their offer pulled and the coach posted this:

That's all I know of

Wow, that really sucks for that kid. Why did FAMU decide to not honor his commitment?

Non-VIP story on 247 Sports regarding the Class of 2014 SEC classes: LINK

quote:

Best Class: Alabama (No. 1 nationally, 0.9368 247Sports Composite rating). The Tide continue to reset the bar for what should be considered the best collection of talent ever assembled on signing day. Nick Saban and his staff reeled in six 247Sports Composite five-star signees from five different states, beating programs like Texas, LSU and Michigan. The most impressive recruiting victory has to be stealing an Auburn legacy from the Tigers’ backyard in linebacker Rashaan Evans. Add to that haul 20 four-star prospects in the 2014 class, the Crimson Tide have once again restocked the roster with elite talent. Instant impact additions include Cameron Robinson, Tony Brown, Marlon Humphrey and Da’Shawn Hand, with top junior college additions Dominick Jackson, Jarran Reed and D.J. Pettway also likely to see major playing time this fall.

quote:

Best Recruiting Win: Alabama beats Auburn for Rashaan Evans. Throughout the last few months, few gave any school serious thought to stealing Evans, an Auburn legacy at Auburn (Ala.) High School, away from the nearby Tigers. Gus Malzahn was the first to really recruit Evans, inviting him to Auburn’s summer camp as a quarterback his freshman year when Malzahn was offensive coordinator. Evans watched firsthand as Malzahn turned the Auburn program around in one year, storming the field to celebrate with the team after home wins over Alabama and Georgia. All signs pointed to Auburn adding a five-star on signing day, but Nick Saban and Kirby Smart had other ideas. They were able to sell Evans on being able to utilize him better as a pass rusher and his long term potential in their defense, which in the end won him over the hometown program and gave the Crimson Tide signing day bragging rights over their in-state rivals.

There's also the kid who signed LOI to three places: OM, Utah, and East Mississippi Community College.

LINK

quote:

Over the last few years, oversigning has become a hot topic in the world of college football recruiting. Well, there's one recruit who may have starting a whole new trend in the recruiting world. Over-committing.

Dacorius "D.J." Law apparently signed letters of intent for three different schools this year. Both Ole Miss and Utah claim they received a letter of intent from Law, who apparently also signed with East Mississippi Community College. According to the Clarion Ledger, Ole Miss announced Law's signing at 8:23 a.m.. Meanwhile, at Utah, the school didn't announce Law's signing until 3:36 p.m., though a school spokesperson told the paper she believed the school received the letter of intent earlier in the day. The time is important to, as whichever conference validated and recorded the NLI first would have the valid one. And, in case this wasn't strange enough, there's video of Law putting on a Utah hat during his signing ceremony on Wednesday. So there's a chance that Law chose Utah but faxed his letter to Ole Miss first and could end up at Ole Miss even if he wanted to go to Utah.

How will it all end? I have no idea. Law will probably end up playing volleyball at some Big Ten school.

I thought a lot about that too.

One thing that still makes me chuckle are the butthurt rivals that can't even acknowledge that Bama did a charitable thing there. The butthurt and envy is just overflowing.

You have to be a 247 member to read this article on Auburn Undercover, but I thought I'd quote one part of it and link it so some of you can read the whole thing.

quote:

In February 1982, Auburn signed Alan Evans, one of the most celebrated in-state running backs it has ever signed. He was viewed as the top prospect in the state that year and the top prospect in Auburn’s recruiting class.

He didn’t make it. Was Auburn’s recruiting class that year a failure?

LINK

fricking pathetic. Out of all the highly rated guys Auburn has signed over the last 40 years that didn't pan out he has to use Alan Evans as his example? Really?

Oh and here's some more AU delusion to enjoy with your brunch:

quote:

I’m tired of people lamenting the Rashaan Evans thing. I said at the CC he would have been the 4th best player in our class at best. This is the worst of Auburn fans to me. It wouldn't even matter if we lost him to UT or Ole Miss. By the way, the Williams kid we actually signed had more sacks last year than Evans, yet there is more lamenting of Evans than celebration of Williams. Not to mention the fact that the kid is all about himself. In case you were in a f'ng coma all fall, the team was successful because Gus ran off all of the self-important assholes that were only in it for themselves. The Iron Bowl is played in November, not February, get it straight. Like Colin Cowherd put on Twitter, none of these kids will be stopping Gus or Marshall this fall.
