Charlot seems to be wavering a bit, talking about how it will be hard to leave his family and he'd like them to be able to be at all of his games. Still says he is committed to Bama, so there's that.

IMO IF we get Godwin, he gone.

Looks like he needs to shorten his throwing motion. Almost throws it like a baseball.

Yeah. All that talk about him shortening his mechanics appear to have been false.

Hopefully Barnett will get it figured out. He has the rest of this year, and then a RS year before he'll have a chance at the field. I'm sure he'll get with a good QB coach and if Kiffin is still here I'm sure he'll help him out during team time.

The Bateman vs Cornwell vs Barnett battle will be interesting.

Unless Bateman transfers, then it is Cornwell vs Barnett.

I agree... I think Bateman will stay as long as he gets a shot at the starting position next season. I doubt Saban will start Barnett as a true freshman. I think the battle next season will be between Coker, Cornwell and Bateman. I think Cornwell is the most talented QB out of those three but we will have to track his development and understanding of the playbook in comparison to Bateman.

Nearly a month into the high school football season, we've had an opportunity to study a sizable sample size of performances from premier college prospects across the country. The 2015 recruiting class is packed with impressive pass-catchers who can stretch the field and snag contested throws.

These athletes could be running routes on campus near you next year, but for now, they're concentrated on making the most of senior seasons. Based on what we've witnessed so far this fall, here's a peak at players who've piled up positive momentum.

Calvin Ridley

Stock: Even

We won't see the nation's top-ranked receiver compete in live-action football again until he's wearing an Alabama uniform. Calvin Ridley, a Crimson Tide commit, surpassed Florida's high school student-athlete age limit (19 years and nine months) last week.

Monarch High School loses its best playmaker after just three games. Make no mistake about it, his shoes won't be filled anytime soon.

“He’s put us on the map nationwide,” Monarch coach Calvin Davis told Steve Gorten of the Sun Sentinel. “Being rated the top receiver in the country [by ESPN and Rivals.com] does a lot for your program. It does a lot for the morale of the kids. So he’s been a huge asset to our program. I don’t know where we’d be without him.”

Ridley capped off his high school career with a seven-catch effort that resulted in 186 yards and two touchdowns. That performance capped off arguably his finest stretch at Monarch, as Ridley reeled in 18 receptions for 420 yards and six scores in three contests.

Ridley earned MVP honors at The Opening this summer and was certainly off to a sensational start. Expect Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin to develop him into a top-tier SEC target prepared to contribute early following the departure of star receiver Amari Cooper.

While there isn’t a Leonard Fournette-type star in the 2015 class of running backs, the rising crop of senior rushers is filled with its share of dynamic talents.

There are 11 running backs who are rated among the Top 100 players overall in the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

With the first month of the season in the books, there are a few backs whose stock is clearly on the upswing.

How are the nation’s top backs faring in the early part of the 2014 season?

DeSherrius Flowers

Trending: Down

Rank: No. 10 RB, No. 93 player overall

Early Season Outlook

It’s been a struggle for Alabama running back pledge DeSherrius Flowers in 2014.

The 6’1”, 212-pounder sprained his ankle in the first quarter of his team’s season opener, and he’s been hampered with the injury ever since.

“He is still limping a good bit,” Vigor coach Ashley Johnson told Ben Thomas of AL.com recently on his star rusher. “He’s still not 100 percent. Worse than that, he is just not himself. Sometimes a nagging injury like that can affect your mindset. We need him to get 100 percent healthy, and believe he is 100 percent healthy.”

Given his health issues, Flowers has been unable to build on a strong junior campaign that saw him rush for 922 yards and 12 scores. With a limited body of work to evaluate this season, Flowers could be a candidate to drop in the next batch of updated rankings.

Charles commented on his release and said that Barnett can't trust his wide receivers timing, so that might be part of it.

Anyone know if Barnett's team has any other d1 players?

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama - Just as they promised, Alabama coaches are recruiting Lawrenceville, Ga., linebacker Adonis Thomas even though he committed to Florida in early August.

"They're recruiting him still very, very hard," Central Gwinnett High School head coach Todd Wofford said. "(Defensive coordinator) Kirby (Smart) is on him real hard. They talk several times a week."

The 6-foot-4, 220-pound Thomas planned on visiting Tuscaloosa for Alabama's 42-21 win over Florida, but did not go. Wofford said Thomas' mother, who wanted to join Thomas, couldn't make the trip.

But the duo plans on returning to Tuscaloosa for Alabama's home games against Mississippi State (Nov. 15) and Auburn (Nov. 29), Wofford said.

Wofford said Alabama wants to schedule Thomas' official visit after the Crimson Tide's season is over, so that will take place in January. It will be Thomas' last official visit, Wofford said, as he has official visits planned for Oregon (Nov. 1), LSU (Dec. 5) and Florida (Dec. 12). He'll also play in the Under Armour game.

Thomas is close with several players who are committed to Alabama and Florida. He shared his thoughts on his Twitter feed over the weekend.

Decisions to be made

My parents and coaches will lead me in the right direction. No worries!
-- Adonis Thomas (@_SimplyThatGuy5) September 22, 2014
"He's never not liked (Alabama) and his mom is in the boat with that too," Wofford said. "He's getting a feel for how Florida does this year, how Alabama does this year, how the linebackers fit in with both programs and still evaluating everything."

Wofford said the final decision could come down to the wire.

On the field, through four games, Thomas has 46 tackles and three sacks, Wofford said. He also broke an opposing quarterback's collarbone on a legal hit.

"He's off the charts," Wofford said. "He's good, but he's doing beyond what we expected."

CeCe Jefferson will take his OV to Alabama for the A&M game. I was really hoping he would have come for the Iron Bowl. It's closer to NSD and Bryant Denny should be hopping.

Said this a while ago... I expected Godwin to flip to us and Charlot to flip to LSU.

I think this would be best for both parties.
