I agree on Prince and seems to be able to play both OT spots.

We have a better chance of shutting out Ole Miss than losing to them

Seems that every offseason we are predicted to lose to Ole Miss. Could we? Sure. I wouldn't bet on it though.

I think prince has the better upside with his height and wing span. But rivals is wrong on a lot of predictions.

Rivals and 247 both have Richmond and Prince ranked very close to one other. Rivals is higher on both of them than 247

There's no ideal. If it's a bell curved percentage of total ranked, you run the risk of having a down year where the top players aren't in the same class as the top players in other years, so the 5 star designation is misleading. But it's difficult to assign an absolute value because most positions are evaluated differently from each other. Ultimately, the number of five stars should reflect the number of players you feel will have the largest impacts at their positions, i.e. a judgement call.

It looks like Scout has at least fixed one problem -- they used to have a specific number of 5 stars every year, with the variation between years being, at most, one or two more or less than their target number. It was just awful. Also, the 247 Composite should be exempted from any discussion, since it's merely the result of whatever issues exist within the other four metrics. Fix those and you fix the Composite.

If you are a member of TSWSNBN, John Garcia is doing a Q & A over there right now. Go hit him up with some questions.

Sonny Shipp from Geaux247's prediction on the Alabama game:

quote:

LSU vs. Alabama – Nov. 8
It’s like 2012 all over again when Alabama brought the nation’s No. 1 ranking and an 8-0 record to face a Top-5 LSU squad that was 7-1. Both teams still control their own destiny in the West and both are sky high for what looks to be another classic between the two rivals. Both teams have a deep stable of running backs running behind a physical offensive line. Each team also has a first-year starter under center and a defense that can cause a lot of problems for their opponent. Alabama needed a late score to beat the Tigers in 2012 in a heartbreaker, and the Crimson Tide come out on top again in similar fashion.

Didn't realize Terry Godwin's OC is Billy Napier's brother. Feel a little better about our chances now even with his sister at UGA

Yeah. Here's that article from AJC:

quote:

UGA’s top recruit on defense is Trent Thompson, the 5-star defensive tackle who committed to the Bulldogs last week.
UGA’s top recruit on offense is Terry Godwin, the 5-star athlete from Callaway High School.
Godwin made some Bulldog fans nervous by taking an unofficial visit to Alabama on Saturday.
“I went to hang out at practice,” Godwin told the AJC on Monday night.
“My visit went great to Alabama. It was a great experience. They told me that I’m a very important guy to them. They told me that they have their three man guys leaving (at wide receiver), and that they need me.
“They said with their three main guys leaving, there’s room for someone else to come in there and make an impact.”
When asked if he felt like there was a better opportunity to make an impact at Alabama rather than UGA – which had to play walk-ons in critical roles after last season’s injuries — Godwin replied “Only God knows.”

Terry Godwin with his sister at Dawg Night (AJC)

This isn’t the first time that Godwin has caused some anxious feelings among UGA fans. Since committing to the Bulldogs last January, Godwin has made multiple visits to Alabama and Auburn, along with returning to UGA.
Alabama appears to be UGA’s biggest contender because Godwin’s offensive coordinator at Callaway (Matt Napier) is the brother of one of Alabama’s ace recruiters, Billy Napier.
Godwin told the AJC on Monday that he remains committed to UGA, but plans to take official visits to other schools “to enjoy the recruiting process.”
Perhaps the biggest thing in UGA’s favor is that Godwin’s older sister was offered a last-minute basketball scholarship by the Bulldogs this summer. She signed and started classes this week.
Terry was also asked about his college position – if he will play wide receiver or defensive back.
“I’m listed as an athlete, and I haven’t really made a decision on which position I’m going to play in college,” he said. “I’m going to wait until I get there, and see which one I feel more comfortable at.”
Lots of high school prospects flirt with the idea of playing on either or both sides of the ball in college. But few are actually good enough to do it at the next level. Godwin is good enough, according to 247sports.com’s Rusty Mansell.
“Terry Godwin is on another level — Terry Godwin is one of 2-3 guys I’ve ever covered that could play either side of the ball and be just as good at either position,” Mansell said.

We have been 5 of Terry Godwin's last 8 visits... 2 to UGA and 1 to AU.

Imagine Blake Barnett or David Cornwell throwing to Robert Foster, Calvin Ridley, and Terry Godwin... Holy poo poo

If that's from the timeline, they haven't updated that. Godwin's been in Athens 6-7 times this summer

Wouldn't read too much into it. People trying to take a shot on the heels of the Perry offer. LSU still has a lot of work to do, and the fact is there are just too many good DBs in LA for 2016 to be telling any single one they're the man.
