14. Kendall Sheffield
5-Star Cornerback
6'0", 181 Pounds
Fort Bend Marshall High School
Schools of Interest: Texas A&M, Baylor, LSU, Alabama, Texas
What to Watch for This Fall
Kendall Sheffield can prove he's far more than just a speedster by growing as an all-around defender in the secondary. His greatest attribute is quickness, which has helped him become one of the country's top hurdlers on the track, but a little more physicality would push Sheffield up this list.
He's a ball hawk, evidenced by six interceptions since 2012, and will look to collect more than three picks in 2014 (his interception total during each of the past two seasons).
Scouting Report
Sheffield can shadow the speediest receivers this class has to offer and won't get beat deep as long as he reads the route correctly. An above-average wingspan adds to his range and prevents downfield pass attempts from connecting with the intended target.
Sheffield provides a slight cushion to receivers because he can rely on his speed in coverage and often baits quarterbacks to test him by providing a window he can quickly shut if an ill-advised pass heads his way. Once his hands are on the ball, there's always a chance for him to turn a turnover into a defensive touchdown with his game-changing speed.
The jury is still out on his run coverage, but Sheffield is by no means a soft player.

13. Calvin Ridley
5-Star Quarterback
6'0", 170 Pounds
Monarch High School
Schools of Interest: Committed to Alabama
What to Watch for This Fall
Calvin Ridley and company have a chance to build off their 2013 playoff appearance with an explosive attack that also features fellow Crimson Tide commit Shawn Burgess-Becker. Aside from receiver, where he caught 41 passes for 1,131 yards and 12 touchdowns as a junior, Ridley is a hard-hitting defensive back.
A successful summer should only make him more confident.
Scouting Report
Ridley, who earned seven-on-seven MVP honors at The Opening, made an array of ridiculous catches in Beaverton. None was better than a one-handed reception he snared in stride along the sidelines during opening day one-on-one drills (watch him break it down for Bleacher Report in the video above).
"I've been practicing that catch a little bit at camps and had another chance in front of a big crowd," Ridley said. "That's why I did it to tell you the truth, just to have a little fun and get some attention."
He may be a showman, but Ridley is also a technician. His downfield attack includes an elite blend of burst and agility, resulting in space beyond the secondary.
Ridley can blow the top off the back end of a defense or feast with yards after the catch on underneath routes.

4. CeCe Jefferson
5-Star Defensive End
6'2", 250 Pounds
Baker County Senior High School
Schools of Interest: Florida, Alabama, Florida State, Maryland, USC, Auburn, LSU
What to Watch for This Fall
When you examine CeCe Jefferson's skill set, the door is open for various possibilities in college. With 32.5 sacks since 2012, his pass-rushing prowess is unquestionable, but can he contribute as an outside linebacker?
If he ends up in a 3-4 system, there's a strong chance that could be his ultimate landing spot. Jefferson, who picked off a pair of passes in 2013, will provide an indication of how he projects at the position by taking on a multitude of duties in Baker County's defense.
Scouting Report
The scheme-diverse defender is a relentless worker who will often chase down opponents with backside pursuit. Jefferson has plenty of power and does an excellent job integrating strong hips in his initial get-off.
His lower body drives offensive linemen into the backfield and sets the stage for him to spring a counter-move that creates sack and stuff opportunities. Jefferson is quick enough to beat help-containment and strikes opponents with force.
He doesn't possess ideal length, but that doesn't appear to inhibit his efforts. The tenacity and technique are in place for him to make an impact at the 5-technique or perhaps as a stand-up edge defender.

The o-lineman who just committed to UGA, Patrick Allen I think?

What exactly did he do?

I think Bartow reported the kid's commitment twenty minutes before Allen announced.

Implying that 247's Ryan Bartow released P Allen's announcement prematurely and that this was not the first time. he released it at 8:30 ET when he was supposed to hold it till after Allen's announcement at 9 PM.

Bet he increases his twitter following by a good bit through. It sucks but quite often bad guys gets ahead in business.

Yeah everyone is desperate to be first to report info even if it's not ethical. Sucks for the kid.

LSU insiders have a special place in my heart:

The Saban rumors to Texas that prompted that tweet actually came from a circle outside of recruiting that deals with a lot of the inner-circles of coaches, their agents etc. It was an extremely solid source. Saban to Texas was extremely close to happening and had it not been for a few stipulations that didn't sit well with Saban, he would've taken the job from what I gathered.

I'm reading through that thread. You should read it if you need a few laughs. I like how Tony Brown's shoulder is such a major concern, Willis had a bad attitude, and Speedy won't stay out of trouble. Didn't want 'em anyway.

Bartow now claims that Allen gave him the go ahead to post the info before his announcement. Calling bullshite.

Contrary to what was said, I did not break an embargo. Kid gave me the ok to break the news. Non issue. Moving onto next story.

There's so much denial in that thread and such a large amount of people eating it up.
