Folks, your 2014 Elite 11 MVP is Blake Barnett, according to 247Sports. The 4-star quarterback from California won the award over several excellent quarterback prospects who competed at the event.

It capped a beautiful week for the Alabama commitment, as he checked in bigger than originally listed at 6'4.5" and 200 pounds.

Barnett is already a high-end 4-star prospect, so winning MVP at the most prestigious quarterback camp in the nation will surely put him thick in the mix for 5-star status.

In these types of settings, dual-threat quarterbacks cannot show off their full skill sets. The reason they're labeled as dual threats is because they can also hurt defenses with their legs.

Over time in recruiting, many people have started to naturally assume dual-threat quarterback prospects are raw and can't throw from the pocket.

However, looking at what unfolded at this year's Elite 11, dual-threat quarterbacks such as Blake Barnett, Deondre Francois, Jarrett Stidham, Brandon Wimbush and Travis Waller are all better in the pocket than you probably think.

At 6'2" and 330 pounds, Daron Payne is not the kind of defensive tackle a guard wants to see when breaking the huddle.

Payne has heavy and powerful hands when punching, plus he possesses impressive strength. At this point, however, he appears to be more of a hole-clogger than a gap-penetrator. If Payne wants to get some sacks in college, improving his ability to get skinny and slip gaps will be imperative.

When he's active and has space to maneuver, 5-star defensive end CeCe Jefferson is a nightmare for offensive linemen.

However, big and strong blockers can give him problems at the point of attack. Jefferson must get better at shedding at the point of attack, which starts with improving his hand usage and strength.

The 6'2", 250-pounder is a similar player to what Auburn defensive end Carl Lawson was in high school.

Mckenzie his had hand up high on the chest and like he was stabbing at the exposed neck and Pet. took exception. I like that in an OL

We have got to land Payne. He can be the centerpiece of Saban's next great unit.

I couldn't find it when I looked but didn't someone in here link an Oregon thread after Barnett committed about someone, a poster, having personal knowledge of Phil Knight black balling him from all Nike related future events and stuff? I swear I saw it but I cant remember where.

This Tennessee commit is still talking shite. Apparently he thinks Alabama is "cocky" and needs a "reality check".

He will quickly make himself a target. He said this to a AJC reporter too.

He's right about Alabama being cocky.

As to the "reality check", Alabama has been the premiere program in college football the last 6 years or so. A "down" year still means they win double digit games and finish top 10. That's the reality.

Congrats to you on LeBron's return to your city. I know you've got to be pumped. He handled it with incredible class this time around. Watch out for the Cavs - especially if they get Kevin Love!

Andrew Butcher isn't the guy to give Alabama a "reality check" anyway

Has the kick 6 ruined hype videos for the 2014 season for anyone else? I haven't watched a single one (whereas last year I watched all that I came across) because I know I'll see it and it'll put me in a bad mood.

He handled it with class the first time. People just want to hate him. Either way, LeBron with Love would be something.

Don't know if "take my talents" thing on ESPN was that classy but maybe that is just me.

It wasn't classy at all.

However, he did everything right this time. He's clearly grown up in the last four years.
