Phenix City (Ala.) Central cornerback John Broussard is one of the top 2016 prospects in Alabama. The 6-foot, 164-pounder reports new offers from South Carolina and Georgia on Monday. The Gamecocks and Wildcats join Kentucky in offering the four-star prospect. Broussard, who is a native of Lafayette, Louisiana, ranks as the no. 27 overall prospect and no. 1 CB in the 2016 cycle according to 247Sports.
I think Broussard attended Auburn's game this past weekend.

If you're an Alabama fan and you blinked at some point on Saturday, you probably missed another recruit committing to the Tide.
Per Matt Scalici of AL.com, Saban landed four top prospects—Minkah Fitzpatrick, Shawn Burgess-Becker, Calvin Ridley and Leo Lewis. According to 247sports, Fitzpatrick is a 5-star rated prospect while the other three are 4-stars.
That's certainly a huge haul for one day, and it points to even bigger and brighter times for the Tide in the future.
All four recruits were members of the 2015 class, so fans won't get to see them in action for at least another year. But what define's a team's offseason is how it recruits. And Alabama just made a statement in that department on Saturday.

If Blake Sims had a good spring game, he might've been on pace to grab the starting quarterback job at Alabama by the horns.
Instead, he'll have no edge over incoming FSU transfer Jake Coker after an awful showing at the Crimson Tide's A-Day game.
Sims completed 13 of 30 passes for 178 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions in a 17-14 loss for his White team.
Replacing A.J. McCarron will be a tough task for Nick Saban. And after Sims' mediocre showing in the A-Day game, it doesn't look like it'll get any easier this summer or fall.

After competing on the Alabama track team this winter, it became obvious that Tony Brown, an early enrollee for the Crimson Tide, was an elite-level athlete.
The question was, how would he handle SEC competition?
The answer was resounding on Saturday.
Brown already looks to among the elite corners in the nation's best conference, shutting down Alabama receivers all day on Saturday and picking off a pass.
Nick Saban is desperate to fill holes in his secondary after Deion Belue and Ha Ha Clinton-Dix left. But Brown looks to be a more-than-suitable replacement and should make a big name for himself come this fall.

With 73,506 fans showing up to Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday, the Crimson Tide set the mark for spring game attendance around the nation on Saturday.
Penn State ranks second in attendance to spring games this season with 72,000 showing up to Happy Valley.
Ironically, the attendance mark on Saturday was the lowest in the Nick Saban Era in Tuscaloosa. But with the fact that this is the first time in three years that Alabama isn't the defending national champion, coupled with the fact that the game was held on Easter weekend, it's understandable as to why attendance dipped a bit.
Nevertheless, when it comes to fan support, there's only one phrase out there to sum it up: Roll Tide.

They had about 65K there according to what I saw on Sunday.

Hailing from Cincinnati, Justin Hilliard is a 5-star linebacker who also can play inside or outside. The 6'2", 225-pounder has solid toughness when opposed by blockers, plus he can deliver a sharp strike at the point of attack.
Hilliard has great athleticism and first-step quickness to attack the line of scrimmage at the snap. He shows good agility in pursuit, plus he scrapes well when working laterally. Holland may be the most ferocious blitzer of any linebacker on this list.
He charges to attack passers with outstanding force, and closes in a flash. He needs to keep working on his pass-coverage skills, especially his ability to stick with pass-catchers at their junctions.
Yet, Hilliard has a bright future ahead of him.
Josh Helmholdt of Rivals.com (subscription required) wrote on April 18:
“The dark horse here is Oklahoma. Hilliard's visit to Norman this winter was a smashing success and he has a great vibe with the Sooners right now."

There appears to be nothing 5-star linebacker Malik Jefferson is not capable of. The Texas native is an exceptional athlete who is a nightmare for offenses.
Jefferson has great vision and instincts, as he anticipates plays like a college player. He does a good job of reading the movements of guards and tackles, then he explodes to make a play.
The 6'2", 225-pounder has the speed and range to track running backs from one sideline to the other. He doesn't back down from offensive linemen and lead-blockers at the point of attack, plus he uses his hands well when striking and shedding.
Jefferson also has the first-step explosiveness to play rush-end/outside linebacker in a 3-4 scheme. He can rush the passer with speed, and he also has the strength to fight blockers while pressuring the passer.
Once he gets better in coverage, Jefferson will be a complete player.
We are in Jefferson's Top 2, but I believe he will sign with A&M.

TJ Yeldon
Position: Running back
Pro comparison: Darren McFadden
While you probably won't see T.J. Yeldon operating out of a version of the Wildcat offense at Alabama, that doesn't mean he couldn't do it. But what makes him like former Arkansas star Darren McFadden is how his style of running compares to what McFadden has done in the NFL.
Both runners are fast yet powerful and can break a tackle as easily as they can outrun a defender. Yeldon hasn't shown his true potential yet in college because there hasn't been a need. But in big games, he has stepped it up a notch, much like McFadden did at Arkansas.

15' MS DL Fletcher Adams
quote:
Alabama impressed several recruits on campus for A-Day last weekend, snagging four commitments on Saturday. Four-star Brandon (Miss.) defensive tackle Fletcher Adams was not among them, but he said he was impressed as well.
"When you have a spring game like that, it normally is not a packed house like that," Adams said of Alabama's A-Day attendance of more than 73,000. "It was pretty awesome."
Adams (6-3, 260) ranked as the No. 16 defensive tackle prospect in the nation by both Rivals.com and 247Sports, was also impressed with the Tide's defensive play on Saturday, and said he's been told by Alabama coaches he could be a Jack linebacker or a defensive end in their system.
Adams said Alabama is currently No. 2 on his list, trailing only his leader -- Ole Miss. Mississippi State, Auburn and Georgia round out his top five, in order, though he reportedly does not have an offer from the Tigers.
Adams, who recorded 99 tackles and seven sacks as a junior, doesn't have any more visits scheduled right now, as he's getting ready to hit the field with his high school teammates for spring drills, but he's planning to take several more this spring and summer -- including Auburn, a campus he's never visited. He hopes to make a decision sometime before this fall.
What's he looking for? "Mainly just somebody that's going to take care of me -- getting a good education and possibly going to the next level if I'm good enough," he said.

15' AL RB Nick Gibson

"I talked to Coach Cristobal. He said they have two backs going in the draft next year. I will be able to get on the field if I commit. I also talked to Coach Burns. I am feeling good about them. Talking to Nick Saban stood out to me."

Random thought: I hope that Henry didn't T-Rich himself out of his speed, etc. it's nice to see his work ethic in the weight lifting room, but i hope he doesn't become more stiff because of it.

quote:i seriously doubt it. go watch his snaps in the aday game. he is hit about a millisecond after the handoff almost every time. just DL being beastly. i doubt his working out too much had anything to do with that.
