So now that Coker has proven to be not near as awful as some of yall said, it's time to claim that Chris Black is a bust. Got it. Thanks

Coker's performance offset his bad practices.

Chris Black has been consistently Chris Black for 4 years. Outside of some A-Days gone by, his impact has been nil.

He lost his spot to someone who just got here within the last 7 months, and barely saw time with the starters if any.

There can only be 1 QB at a time, but there can be up to 5 WRS on the field at 1 time. And Black has missed his opportunity to make an impact even with that fact.

He may turn it on this year, but it's looking unlikely...

I think Coker played well, but let's not gloss over his performance simply by looking at his numbers. Mullaney bailed him out on his first catch (ball was behind him as he was moving left to right across the field. Coker also threw behind or high on almost all the screens he threw, but the WR (or in Drake's case, the RB) made the catch. Also, on his three deep balls, he grossly under threw Stewart down the right sideline, if he leaves it out in front of Ridley in the 1st half that may have been six, and the one before the half is tough to tell if it's on him or Stewart.

Coker played well, but his receivers helped him a lot.

Oh he wasn't perfect, but I think he exceeded initial expectations considering what information we had to do go on.

His game had several faults, mentioned in another thread he was 0/2 with 2 sacks on 4 pressured drop backs to go along with aforementioned 0/3 on passes longer than 20 yards.

He played like a guy who was getting his first start. He did the easy stuff and didn't shite the bed. Numbers don't tell the story, but well on his 1st start vs a good team.

This didn't bother me too bad. He didn't force into traffic or panic, which I was happy to see. He took the sack and lived to fight another down. Not horrible. And I agree with you - it will get better.

I gave him a pass on most, only really Blake Sims managed to avoid some of those pressures in his 1st start.

I think Cam Rob, among others, underestimated that OLB. Quick as a hiccup and pretty athletic...

Ridley can be as good as he wants and whomever is the QB gets the ball to him. We have a lot of things to work on and are talented enough to get a lot better. Could be a magical year.

sure hope the light has come on and stays on for Foster, he's very talented and we'll need him to be his best this year.
