However, I could totally see their defense control our offense too.

We're gonna run all over their arse. Let Bo loose

Only if our downfield passing game is a legitimate threat.

I can see this game going a few ways. It truly depends how our OL plays imo. If we have any success running I'd say mount that horse and ride him the entire game. FSU will be dead tired after 4 of our rbs go ape shite on them. Or we have some success passing because we have elite receivers. We have to remember Jalen can run as well. I just don't see us not scoring. Now on the other hand FSU has a legit QB but if that OL hasn't improved I'd send someone every play and get him scrambling to throw. The biggest problem we would face would be turnovers. It just can't happen. We also can't have our famous super slow start, this is a better team than usual. Lots of factors for this game and FSU certainly has the talent to beat us. Gun to my head I'd pick a score of 28-17 Tide.

Hopefully Hurts will be more than an extra running back who loves to fumble the ball this year. If he can be an average passer then with our receivers we will kick their arse.

We should probably premier that early in the game to back the def off some. I'm sure they are thinking he won't throw on them. He has def improved.

I hope we run a lot of counter play action pass to dragging tight ends early, then ran some run, then start taking shots

Same. If he is able to hit them then they are gonna have a hard time stopping Bo/Damien/Josh/Najee. He won't have to be perfect either.

FSU lost their best RB in Cook returning Patrick (#9)

Player - Att - Yds - Avg - TD - Rec Yds - Avg - TD
Dalvin Cook - 288 - 1765 - 6.1 - 19 - 33 - 488 - 14.8 - 1
Jacques Patrick - 61 - 350 - 5.7 - 4 - 4 - 21 - 5.3 - 0

Bama lost only BJ Emmons returning 3 backs statistically better than Jacques Patrick

Player - Att - Yds - Avg - TD - Rec Yds - Avg - TD
Damien Harris - 146 - 1037 - 7.1 - 2 - 14 - 99 - 7.1 - 2
Bo Scarbrough - 125 - 812 - 6.5 - 11 - 4 - 22 - 5.5 - 0
Joshua Jacobs - 85 - 567 - 6.7 - 4 - 14 - 156 - 11.1 - 0

The success of the OLs and DLs for both FSU and BAMA will go along way towards the respective RB's success. Those factors are simply a mystery to us at this point in the preseason.

FSU will probably give 5-10 carries to a True Freshman RB in Cam Akers unless he is very successful. I see Bama giving just a handful of carries to it's TF in Harris or Robinson depending on the way the game develops.

Bama has 17 5-stars on it's roster to match FSU's 7 5-stars. That talent difference alone makes me feel pretty good about the game.

You had 5X as many 5* guys as Ole Miss 2 years in a row. That matters, but Bama the last few years has looked kind of blah in the first half of their first games. If they do that against FSU, they could be looking uphill 10 points or so. FSU this year at game 1 is better than USC was game 1 last year. That USC game was close up until after the half.

I don't know who wins but I'll be watching that's for sure

Defense is usually solid throughout.

Its the offense that only likes to play half a game.

You do have a point. Bama should have more 5-stars than any of its opponents in the upcoming future unless things change the next few years. It definitely doesn't guarantee wins.

The only thing it really promises is this, sometimes raw talent can help you avoid things that teams with less talent cannot. FSU doesn't strike me as one of those teams.

If you are referring to the 14 and 15 losses to Ole Miss, turnovers are the great equaliser.

Bama turned the ball 8 times in those two games to one Ole Miss turnover.

Even in the Sugar Bowl loss to Ohio St, Bama had 3 or 4 turnovers to 1 for Ohio St.

I believe Ohio St had a pick six in that game and two Bama int happend in the end zone.
