Barrett Sallee, "Doesn't matter if Ty Simpson is better than Milroe- Milroe is going to be the QB at Alabama."

" The coaches will try to talk him into staying another year with promises of starting next year, but Simpson can get paid to go somewhere else, and start this year so,... if you were him what would you do ? "

All I was hoping for from the new HC was no more of this seniority or "the team likes this guy the most" culture. I want that culture stomped out of the program somehow.

I wouldn't blame any QB on the roster for transferring if they are grading higher and have a better understanding of the offense then told they will not be the starter because the older guy is really popular.

A lot of talk out of camp is Simpson is having a great spring- I hope he and Lonergan and Mack get a fair shot... That's all I care about- getting back to the best player playing at every position. No more Dalcourts starting in front of a Jaeden Roberts because they are Sr's or popular. No more. If a guy wins a job fair and square this program has to support those players to get back to making asses quit.

Well that’s the stupidest, most baseless thing I’ve read all day

Milroe

Is making it hard not to choose him. His teammates love him, he is the first in the door for every thing, Constant contact with the coaches. He is a bridge filler between the fans and the new regime.

“He lead his team to a good season” last year. It is the safe pick for them. If they would choose Simpson over the guy the last regime chose and lose a game, then the naysayers would be out. Lose a game with Milroe and people will just say wait until the new regime gets their guy in and develops him.

Then again, it may just be because he is the better of the QBs on the roster

I know I always take noted Barner Barrett Sallee's word as gospel on all things Alabama. He doesn't have an agenda at all.

He’s an Auburn grad. Why an Alabama fan would bother to read what he wrote is head scratching.

He's a regular on Ryan Fowlers show, I'm just passing along what I've heard from several journalists that cover the team lately.

Which is weird because we found out last year in the last game of the year the center was making the checks because Milroe has no idea what he's looking at. How he has now learned a semi air raid pro style system faster than all the other QBs when last year he had to look at the sideline to be told where to throw the ball seems unlikely

He’s an Auburn graduate and fanboy who hates Alabama athletics. The end.

It re-enforces OP’s preconceived ideas on something no one knows the details on outside of the program.

Some people just like to melt.

Exactly. Barrett Sallee goes out of his way to take shots at Alabama. He’s a lowlife POS.

He is an Auburn graduate. Disregard his opinion entirely.

I mean, he'll always be the guy that predicted an Ole Miss upset over Alabama in 2018. He made it known throughout the week online and on WJOX where I heard it.

Final score? Bama 62 Ole Miss 7

So yeah, not much point in trusting this barntard's gut instincts.

If Simpson leaves I hope he transfers outside the conf.

Would really stink to have him transfer and then beat us on the field.

Could still get him in a bowl game though.

I mean I don't see where he's lying though.

Milroe is a good quarterback but he still has big holes in his game that could hinder us.

Do I think Ty is better? I don't know because I haven't seen him since last year but from reports he's made tremendous strides.

It should be a QB competition in my honest opinion and it should be a fair one.

All I'm saying is this...
Jalen Hurts was absolutely LOVED by his teammates but he wasn't the best quarterback on that roster....Tua was and we saw how that played out.

There's just so much unknown here because literally no one here has any real idea of which QB is doing the best. All we have are rumors and snippets here and there.

Can Milroe be the "the Man"? Maybe. I know he works out like a maniac (much like Jalen Hurts did). The players like him and he seems like a nice guy. However, can he take that mental quantum leap in terms of making good mental decisions on the field? It's like he's going from playing checkers to being asked to play 3 Dimensional Chess. Big ask.

CKD is kind of in the same situation CNS was last year early. Play the "popular" QB who maybe doesn't have the mental ability or the more cerebral back up who has a higher upside but you may "lose" some of the team?

My guess is Milroe will be the #1 and Simpson #2. I do think Bama loses at least one and probably two QBs to the portal. I could be wrong and would love to be wrong but I don't think so.

So, I think there is an element of truth in what Sallee is saying. The question is, which one (s) transfer?

Milroe might start and Ty might transfer but this idiot knows as much as I do. He’s a huge Auburn homer.

This guy is basically an Auburn message board that has media credentials. Finebaum is more objective when it comes to anything related to Alabama.

Not really a revelation or negative. In the NIL world every open practice, scrimmage and game is an audition for potential transfers. This is the game now.

Holy shite, it that you Joka?! Did someone steal your login?

I still struggle to believe that Milroe can run the offense best of all our QB's. IF he ends up starting all year, and struggles to do basic QB 101 stuff again, I'm going to lose some faith in the new staff.
